@jpeters: thanks for updating. I sincerely hope you can find the time and efforts to bring this extension out of its alfa/beta stage and release it as a stable version.

0.8pre with modified TB version to 3.1.* in install.rdf seems working as also massic80 told.
I hope this contact sidebar feature will once be a part of TB by default... It deserved it truly.

Love this addon, however it isn't working in 3.1 and the suggestion by iminj does give a sidebar in the Write window, but now in the main view area. I'm ::::crossing fingers:::: that an update is on it's way. Searching across address books is a total PITA without this addon!

I was also disappointed that Ver 0.8pre was not compatible with Thunderbird 3.1 .... UNTIL I discovered that there is a Contacts Sidebar built into Thunderbird 3.1 "Write" screen. You can activate it under the Write > View > Contacts sidebar menu.

Problem solved for me.

I completely agree with Frédéric Jeanbart on this one. I hate essential features being relegated the status of "addons". Soon we'll have to download a "check email" add on to use Thunderbird.

Worst of all it's not even working with Thunderbird 3.0.1 meaning there is no contact manager functionality available for for this program. If Evolution worked for Windows I'd use it.

ESSENTIAL! How come isn't it part of the base distribution of TB? Worst: it's NOT compatible with TB version 3.x.x!... Very disappointing, as there is (oddly) no other plug-in doing this. Please update this essential gyzmo, thanks.

I have found there is no limit in quantity of ldap entries.
I was not setting sizelimit in my slapd.conf (openldap server configuration).
It was assuming 500 as a default.
Correcting this, deletes this limitation.

Is there any limitation to quantity of ldap entries retrieved?
I notice 500 entries limitation.
Any workaround?

By itself an 5*+ Add-On.
But unfortunately still not kompatible with the newest TB3 version. Therefore just 0.5* maximum.
Sorry. Hard, but true.

It doesn't make any sense to have this addon if it doesn't work with the latest version of Thunderbird. Please inform me which Contacts Sidebar I should use with Mozilla Thunderbird 3.0.4

this add-on is useful and effective but is is not compatible with TB 303

I loved this with Thunderbird 2. When will it work with Thunderbird 3.0.4? (I just downloaded the latest and it is not compatible.)

downloaded the above but sadly it only works for earlier versions. Visited his site and found he has been working on another version i think it was like a beta but i got it and yep works good so fare so visit his site
