Same as Snafu77. It makes a mess of my Gmail contact book.

Used to work fine - Beware

Do not use this extension it is broken and a menace to users.
When I originally put this to work a few months ago it worked fine. Yesterday all my systems with Thunderbird and Google Contacts experienced the "Mail list _____ is not synchronized" bug. ( read here http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1712195 ) That bug disabled Thunderbird totally until I manually deleted the extension from my profiles.

Bis 0.6.33 klappte es so einigermaßen.
Ab der neuen 0.6.34 ist nur noch Schrott:
Bei jedem Start von TB wird gefragt, ob man "ALLE KONTAKTE VON GMAIL LÖSCHEN" will und danach friert TB komplett ein.
Ich bin gerade dabei das Addon manuell zu entfernen, damit ich mit TB wieder arbeiten kann - schöne Scheiße!
So sollten Updates sicher NICHT sein!
Herzlich Dank auch an den Entwickler - Ich bin hier NICHT als Beta-tester!
FAZIT: NICHT INSTALLIEREN!!

This would be a killer app if it worked, but unfortunately it's not yet reliable. The synchronization is all a bit haphazard - updates in your addressbook have about a 30% chance of being manifested in your google contacts, and I keep finding duplicates that I thought I had deleted. Can't wait until it works, but I'm uninstalling until a newer version comes out.

This addon don't work properly. Sync is partial, in my case only syn 29 of 250+ contacts in my gmail account. Anyway, thanks the efforts of the developer.

Syncro doesn't work. Ok to see GMail contact, but surely NOT to synchronize.

This addon is great to READ your contacts.. however.. i warn anyone who wants to use it to synchronize them. DONT USE IT.

Its randomly unreliable... sometimes it will update my contacts on google and sometimes (at total random) it wont... worst thing is that you never know. so you end with useless data :(

furthermore the translation (i got german) are totally wrong... when you delete a contact it will tell you at the next thunderbird start that some contacts are about to be deleted and ask you if you want to keep them... actually its meant if you want to really delet them.. so clicking "yes" will actually delete them.. but of course you should click "no".


then it also made redundant copies of contacts.. so i ended with 400 contacts.. :(


If you update your contacts directly over the google interface then this is great for reading them in thunderbird.. im using latest version 6.33

Great AddOn! Now with the 0.6.33 version I can say that the app is very useful... the prev version was good but improvable. Thank U for Your Work!

I use it read only to avoid troubles. Not that I have had any but don't want to take chances.

This trashed my Google Contacts, sporadically putting one person's email or display name or numbers in another person's record. There's no way I can check everything manually so I'll just have to delete and start again. Fortunately I have a backup but I'll have to redo the contact groups.

Ultimately though, Thunderbird's address book is pretty basic and I don't trust it as a synchronisation source, however good the add-on.

Works fine for me. I have my Exchange contacts uploaded to Google. Instead of local address books, I have all my Macs look at the Google contacts. So far, no problems at all (have run this way for a few weeks now).

I like this better than Apple's Address Book because Thunderbird can understand the groups/lists that are on Google. I use category codes in Outlook, these become groups on Google, I can use the groups on my Macs........life is good. No downside that I can find so far :)

Works pretty good but not enough space for different email adresses and telephon numbers so only 4 stars

I was not able to push the good contact list from Thunderbird to Google successfully. It does do a good job if your primary contact set is on Google.

Works great--even imports Google addresses correctly (with a small tweak). Works just how I want it to--no problems.
