It's quit easy to backup. Just open SpeedDial settings and click on the button in the lower left corner (this one with the arow beneath). There are two possibilities to export the settings - one for the settings and the other for the dials. They use the same filename but the contents are different IMHO - so you have to change it manually.

Hi everyone. This is a great add-on. I would be lost without it. That is why I am trying to back up what I have on all of my speed dials, so how is this done? I will give this add-on a 4 Star rating because of not being able to find out how to back up.

It's great. First I thought it would be nice only for people not very aquainted to computers. But now I use it myself and I won't miss it.
The problem with the missing "Drag and Drop" within FF 3.6 can be solved by using the actual beta-version which can be found here:

I've been using Speed Dial for some time now with no problems and find it indispensable. However, the reason for the 4-star rating rather than 5 is that with FF 3.6, as others have mentioned, you can no longer drag and drop the thumbnails. Not the end of the world, obviously, but could do with being fixed please.

Excellent Module !!! Mais petit problème avec la dernière version de Firefox 3.6. La mise à jour de Speed Dial pour la version 3.6 ne se mémorise pas dans Firefox. A chaque redémarrage, il est nécessaire de Re faire la mise à jour de Speed Dial pour la réinstaller. Speed Dial est désactivé à chaque redémarrage.

Totally agree with the previous writer - with 3.5 this addon worked PERFECTLY and is a very convenient, useful tool, but... with 3.6 not only does it NOT WORK PROPERLY, but causes other problems as disrupting the browser's operation.
ATTENTION: FIX THIS ADDON FOR MOZILLA 3.6 PLEASE
The only issue related to Firefox 3.6 I've received is the drag & drop; if you're experiencing issues related to Speed Dial, contact me directly for support, but so far I've got no complaints (other than the drag & drop one).

I love this add on, its so simple to set up and the open new tab with speed dial button is a real gem! I use this all the time and its made my browsing so much easier and more enjoyable, oddly i particularly like the pre installed weather feature too :D

It is way ahead of its counterpart and more hyped fast dial, i was using fast dial for about a year now. Today i found this beauty and am beating my head why didnt i found it earlier. Hats off to the author for making life such easier..
Just one thing to the author , can u add a functonality for themes as in fast dial.
5 stars for its performance.

This is the best add-on for Firefox. It is always up to date with the latest build of Firefox. I would like the ability to search my dials since I have so many. 23 tabs 8*5 Primarily all full. i.e. 3 for Mac related pages. It would be easier sometimes to search my tabs than do it manually.

I love the idea, but it should use the 'Move Visited' sites that are already built into Firefox. Can't wait until this feature is added as I'll definitely re-install it then.

I love this addon. It's the only thing I miss from opera and now it's here.
A small request would be to get to choose color on the borders of the small screens. But thats only cosmetic. :)

I love having this as my homepage, but it really needs some kind of cloud sync such as XMarks so that I don't have to keep setting it up everywhere and changing the pics. Thanks

This would be great if it didn't use its own totally incompatible way of storing its bookmarks.
Why not just let the user choose a regular bookmark folder as root? (or several for the tabs).
Then you would get all the functionality that can be added to the bookmark system for free.
For example automatic synchronization via xmarks, or whatever the user has set up.
Seems like this should be prio one to implement.

This is a fast and fun add-on. It seems to work great on my system, which is a Toshiba laptop, Windows Vista. I plan on making a donation. Thanks for making it :)
