Please make this very usefull add'on work with TB 3.6.
We use to have a context menu by right clicking on the message.

could you please update the software so it's going to work with tb3 ?? i am missing the possibility of exporting selected mails from the inbox soooooooo much. i even don't know why this function is not already included in tb.... thanks!

this used to work really well in 2.x as with everyone else it simply doesnt work in 3.0.1 which is a real shame.

Extension does not export anything in Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091204 Lightning/1.0b2pre Thunderbird/3.0
Only displays message: JavaScript Application: SmartSave can't export the selected folder!
No matter whether via context menu or main menu or whatever folder selected.

I agree TB3 without this addon is worthless

Doesn't work with TB3.

Used to be on earlier TBirds, that you could save individual emails with Smartsave. That was SO MUCH better. Not all emails are in need of saving for posterity! Please revise so as to be able to save individual emails.

one of the functions thunderbird has been missing all along ... I will not update to TB 3 without the possibility to use this plugin, please update it

Export klappt soweit ganz gut, nur kann man nichts mehr importieren!!!
Also Vorsicht, wenn man wie ich seine Konten/Mails wegsichern möchte um sie gegebenenfalls später wieder einlesen zu können!

This is an incredibly useful add-on for anyone who needs to archive mail outside the Thunderbird application.

HOWEVER, it no longer works with the latest release of Thunderbird (I.m not surprised, given the changes). It would be great if the Author could produce a release for 3.0.

Excellent.
Had to bounce an Outlook 2000 .pst to OE6. Used readpst to convert .pst to T'bird mboxes (on Ubuntu), then used Smartsave to store emails as .eml, then dragged .emls into OE6 folders. Used a USB HD to transfer between M$ & Ubuntu PCs. Piece of pi55!

The Add-on is Excellent!!! It has some bugs, though, but it works for me almost perfectly in TB version 2.0.0.23 (20090812)
At first, I had a problem: 11/242 messages were saved, and then I went to see what was the problem and discovered that the 12th message had a strange sign within the subject... I've deleted that message, tried again... 241/241!!!

SmartSave works great! It created all the folders and exported all the saved email I had (1997-2009) in one step. Out of 2GB (some 30K emails) only a few were skipped. I'll keep using it regularly so I never accumulate emails in such quantity again.

Have installed this add-on on Thunderbird 2.0.0.23. Tried to export all folder for a backup. The add-on has just created an emty folder tree without exporting a single message.
