Installs like silk but ... how, exactly, do I run it? There's no entry for this add-on in any menu (save the Tools / Add-ons (install) menu).

Would be better to scan all the addressbook first and then ask for which contact to keep.

I like the add-on as it is a great time saver BUT it would be so much easier if it did a complete search and present the duplicates in a fashion where the user could then select the dupes and delete or save them after the search. Unfortunately the program now demands constant attention. One needs to respond to each duplicate as it is presented, this is really a slow method of working. Thanks for reading.

Generally works, exceptions on a few records (but also looking at an 8 year old address book with thousands of contacts). Pretty slow on this very high spec. desktop. Suggested features:
1. More speed (looks like it is not caching the elements it is comparing).
2. A 'move' option, instead of delete.
3. A 'list' - where it build a list of all possibles, then you process the list. Of course the processing does change the list content, so would need to re-evaluate as you opened the items. However with the current speed it is tedious cleaning up a large address book.
4. Ability to set the 'duplicate' criteria. Does a pretty good job, but doesn't cope well with certain data missing (mis-detects as duplicate when there are obvious clues they are not).

Sehr einfach zu bedienen, klasse Tool. ...und wenn's mal über mehrere Adressbücher suchen kann, bekommt es den 5. Stern. Danke für dieses hilfreiche Werkzeug.

Generally did a good job but it did miss a few duplicates that I had to delete manually. None-the-less it saved a lot of time - worth trying.

After I copied an email address from the "to be deleted" to the "to be saved" contact and attempted to continue, I was given several long exception error messages (one after the other). Then the program went on but gave the same exceptions when I attempted to process another duplicate even though I made no changes.
In addition, the notes field is not displayed, so I the difference between two duplicates may be in the notes field.
I'm using Thunderbird 2.0.0.9 with these extensions: MoreFunctionsForAddressBook, Incoming Threads, Folder Account, Talkback, Signature Switch and PrintingTools.

I do use this tool. However, when I find a duplicate and I cut and paste data from one version to the other, the deletion works fine but the new record often does not contain the stuff I copied from the deleted record. Which is not a great result.

Should be noted that over 1000 contacts and this extension may do wonky things which the author even mentions, but not on the opening page. Had I known that, I wouldn't have downloaded it. It does appear it does what it claims, just not for people with massive address books. Please make that clear on the download page.

Works well and fast. I like green/red glow around fields. Although there are some things to be improved, it is very functional at the moment. There are no bugs.

This is a very useful extension and works quite ok when working on small amount of contacts. Handy for me. Thanks
