Excellent extension; I've used it since it was first available in/after FF8However, in the en-US locale, 'Settings', would it be possible to show "Sprawdzaj pisownie" in English? :D
(Fortunately, it was easy to guess, and then find, a translation)

A must have add-on for me, can´t use Firefox without it. I just have one simple request, could you change the default icon? I'm quite picky with my interface, and I always have to manually change the toolbar icon, and now, since the update it has an even worse resolution, and it´s harder to change. But well, no big deal. Just trying to fulfill my sense of aesthetics. =P All in all a great add-on. Thanks!!

Lots to like: simple, fast and light! Quicknote has been a workhorse over the years, so I'm naturally concerned that maintenance and development seems negligible. I've at times had to change maxversion in the rtf or go into the jar to change the icon size (24px), and there was a buggy version I downgraded (possibly current version, btw tab works great in old version with Firefox 3.6), but the tightness makes this is a keeper. Please save QN from code rot and give it new life for Firefox 4.0. Thanks!!!

@raajsaab: An extension named "XNote" provides the functionality you seek: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/3093/
It's OK for Thunderbird version 2.0.0.*, I've been using it for a couple of months now on several machines and OSes.
There's also a version by another author for TB 3 based on the old one ( https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/64758/ ), but it has not yet been reviewed by Mozilla.
Also there is "XNote Plus" ( https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/5730/ ), which hasn't been reviewed either. I don't know the difference between the latter two, though.

I need an add-on that should allow me to add a note to every mail I receive. Whenever I open that mail, I should be able to see note I added.

It does as it claims to do. :) Ctrl + F7 works fine for me (XP). Do note (referencing the review below mine) that any extension's shortcut can fail to function if another extension uses the same keys, which is always a possibility.

this happens to be among my 'always must have' extensions... and has been for ages...
such is why i am asking this of the dev, if they see it...
long ago being able to have more than four tabs was said to be functionality that was in the works...
what happened with that idea?
(btw... if you don't plan on adding that... might you at least give me a clue as to how to rewrite QN for myself? )

Please find the time to reinstall the code to make Quicknote open in Firefox tab It worked perfectly in 3.57 ( would be a 5 star addon then)

I would switch to using Firefox 3.6.
But QuickNote don't work with Firefox 3.6...
I use regularly Quicknotes!

Note that you can install the version compatible with Firefox 3.6 on the add-on page under the Beta channel heading. That version will soon be distributed to all users via automatic update.

I also think it´s a very usefull toll...easy and perfekt to handle. I´m hopefull to get a update to use QuickNote with Firefox 3.6.
