Thank you for this great addon. This and Lightning have made it easier for me to help people switch from Office Outlook and get away from the high price of MS Office. I look forward to more of your work.

good until thunderbird 3 - but not working with thunderbird 5!
even if you change the maxversion in install.rdf - sidebar will load but you can't search and if you try to change the preferences thunderbird gets stuck.
with thunderbird 3 I had no problems at all!

I used Massic80 method to install. I could install but the search function does not work.

Hi Paul!I think it doesn't introduce instability or something else: actually, it's just an interface extension, showing something in a different way. It doesn't store data, execute hard calculations or anything else. Eventually, I think I'll take a look on XUL language (they say it's not much different than Javascript) and will as Jeroen to help him in mantaining this useful extension :)

There is a prerelease of v. 0.8 (0.8pre2) of Contacts Sidebar that works fine with my Thunderbird 3.1.1

Its working on my desktop but I just tried to add it to my laptop and it won't install because it says not supported!One thing that might be the answer is I made a back up of my Thunderbird using MozBackup and it might have been an older version of Thunderbird ,(not sure)And I restored over an up-to-date Thunderbird.Maybe that's why it accepted it.Its a great add on, would be a shame if this isn't updated.I don't understand why its not an option in Thunderbird by now.

this one works.
This is odd.
I have this version on my desktop and I use Add On Collector to sync both machines. But its not syncing the right version over to my Laptop, A manual download from the above link fixed it.

MISSING CONTACTS SIDEBAR!
I need to scan my address book as much as I need to scan my emails - the missing sidebar in 3.1.2 makes it LESS USEFUL for me than the earlier versions. May have to revert back and even thinking of changing software altogether.
