Seems good, unobtrusive, seems to work well on FF39.0 and I'm quite happy with it. Ability to set different hotkeys might be a nice addition later, but that's only a minor thing.

I can finally paste stuff into spreadsheets or text boxes without the long winded special paste or paste into notepad and copy and paste again malarkey.

Works great! Just one minor quirk: I've found that when I inadvertently use it to copy some text that's already plain (e.g. Google Maps URLs), it fails to copy at all. Don't know why—but I'll just try to remember to use regular Copy in those cases.
FLOOD212: Try Keyconfig, here on the FF Add-ons site. It lets you easily redefine any of FF's shortcuts.

First I thought that the Reformat special characters option didn't work. It does work with the regular copying, but I was using the "Copy Without Spaces" option. Turning that option off made the special character reformatting work.
The other problem has to do with copying text from a URL. It works great so far, including special character reformatting. However, there is a problem with the shortcut used by Copy Plain Text (P). This "P" shortcut is already used by Firefox for "Open Link in New Private Window", which is one of the options shown in the context menu when you are on a link. Could the developer perhaps change the Copy Plain Text shortcut key from "P" to something else? Or possibly even make it configurable?

One minor thing though... the "reformat special characters" option should be split to finer-grained options because one might want to convert only a few of the supported special characters.

There is no choice to change the short key, (my [ctrl sh U] is taken by resurrect - which can't be changed either). The 2nd description pic shows [ctrl sh C] as active (that's taken by Inspector - by default). I would prefer to have [ctrl alt C], but everybody should have a choice in the setup of the add-on. Thanks for working on it ASAP.

You all should know that many web pages have hidden code in the text, so you can't simply copy it as need be.
But this add-on solves that problem. Simple to use and works great every time. It's faster too, as copying some text will lag and hang when doing it the old way. Bravo.
I also use CoLT for links, but this does the rest.
This should be the default way to copy text in FF.

Clean Plain Text 2 saves me much time. I use this add-on to copy text almost every time I use my computer. This is a very useful add-on. I would not want to be without it.

La mayoria del texto que tenga que copiar de paginas web lo copio con esta extension que remueve cualquier formato que tenga el texto.
Antes tenia que abrir un block de notas y pegar el texto ahi para quitarle el formato ahora no pierdo tiempo en eso.

Since installing this wonderful little add-on months ago, I'm still astonished by its simple elegance. I use it constantly, copying text from web pages to paste into my spreadsheets and documents. No more need to call up Notepad to filter out those pesky formattings!
This add-on is so very useful, completely bug-free and ad-free, and a delight to use. Who knew that Copy Plain Text's right-click could save me so much time??! Many thanks for an inspired help tool.
