When I realized it was not compatible with F57, I though it was because Firefox team implemented a built-in tool to manage sessions. Not this the reason, I'm thinking doing a roll back to previous Firefox version.

Bellissimo, utilissimo, indispensabile. Io ho messo sul cloud la cartella dove si registrano le sessioni salvate, e le ho a disposizione su tutti i pc (casa, ufficio, portatile).
E' uno dei motivi fondamentali per cui ho deciso di bloccare gli aggiornamenti di firefox e di fermarmi alla 55.0.3: se dovessi fare a meno di questa e di alcune altre estensioni storiche (Tab Mix Plus, per esempio) preferirei passare direttamente ad altri browser.

This is how you reenable Session Manager after it has been disabled by firefox 57:
Optional: Backup user profile, by copying the folder on hamburger menu-> '?'-> 'Troubleshooting Information'-> 'Open Folder'-> go up one level and copy the folder with random letters and numbers.
1. Install a version of firefox that supports "legacy" extensions, like FF ESR 52.
2. Run the browser. If Session Manager is still disabled, go to this page, Click "Add to Firefox" and install Session manager

This addon is the only reason I am not updating Firefox to version 57. Also I am switching to Waterfox 56. Some info:

Thanks for this good work ! This extension is unique and for me probably the most important in my daily use of Firefox. I have to downgrade because Quantum does not support it. Incredible !!! Anyways, would appreciate to get some info when Firefox evolves to support it, otherways i will not upgrade again since the alternatives are buggy and crappy.

Not upgrading to Quantum because of few addons including this one.
Other session managers sucks and bult-in FF manager looses tabs regularly.

This excellent add-on fills a big lack of Firefox for the backups and the restorations of the tabs.
Not useful only in case of problems but for example it allows to manage profiles of tabs by theme.

This is the most important Firefox add-on to me. When the other session managers sucked for FF57, I felt like being homeless. I had to downgrade to FF56.
I also wonder why did FF update crippled this kind of add-on. If they had to do that, they should have made it built-in.

This was the most important add-on I used until FF57. I have asked the author of this add-on if the API incompatibility is permanent (it reads so to me) or if he can rewrite the ap to be compatible.
The BIGGER QUESTION to me is was this crippling deliberate by Mozilla!?!? And if so, WHY???

The most important browser addon to me. Great productivity tool to organize your sessions according to what task you are currently focusing on. You can save sessions for later use, and restore them later. The Backup and Recovery feature has saved me many times.
Yet why did i give 3/5 stars? Not (just) because it doesn't support Quantum, but because there is no easy way to get updates on progress wrt Quantum support. The dev has not updated the homepage in a long while. The only avenue for feedback and comments is a single forum thread which has now been locked.
To dev(s) : Please update your homepage, regarding progress or roadblocks on Quantum support. Thank you for this wonderful addon. I cannot live without it.
edit: I tried alternative addons which work with Quantum , but they all suck in comparison to this one. I had to downgrade to Firefox 52 ESR because i can't live without this addon.

Это просто жизненно необходимое приложение! Самое полезное из всех имеющихся без преувеличений. Столько лет с ним бок о бок, сохранено огромное количество тематических сессий, к которым периодически возвращаешься. Не представить себе firefox без него. Именно поэтому пришлось откатиться на 56 версию и ждать пока разработчики что-нибудь придумают в части совместимости...
Спасибо Michael Kraft. Мы ждем маленького чуда и возвращения Менеджера сессий в новой ипостаси :-)

This is one of two addons I cannot do without (the second is TabKit 2 for vertical tabs). I've tried various other addons that purport to do what these do, but they weren't near as good. I've tried updating Firefox, but without Session Manager and TabKit2, I have reverted back to an older version. Somehow session manager was gone for a while (I don't know how long, but i'd get an "unavailable" when i tried to install it), but this morning Firefox said an update was available! I immediately got rid of the half-dozen useless session addons and reinstalled session manager! Finally, back to normal. (Unfortunately, the only sessions it had available were from Feb and Mar (it's now Dec.) But, that's OK - I'll live with it... and make new ones...

I heavily depended on this extension. I am sorry to let it go because it doesn't work for Firefox 57. Well good luck with your new projects.

Fantastic add on. The best add on to save sessions. Was not able to find any other add on with the features this provides. Reverted to Firefox 52 using ESR build just for this add on! Great work!
