I too was unable to use this add-on after the update to Thunderbird 3.1.2. A nice replacement is "MinimizeToTray revived"

Won't install in TB 3.1.2. Says it's incompatible with that version.

IN TB 3.04
winrar unzip to foloder
change install.rdf
line 33
change as 3.04+
save AND zip file

install OK

works fine with thunderbird. just a small change required.

download the installer and open it using 7-zip (www.7-zip.org) or winrar.

there will be a file "install.rdf". open it using notepad or wordpad.

there will be text like:



.......
xxx



change the value of xxx to your version of thunderbird or greater. save the file and install the addon.

Note: using 7-zip indtall.rdf may not open from archive. so firstly extract the file "install.rdf" and the edit it, save it and then copy it to the addon installer.

Hi,

For those having problems with getting this working with the newer versions of Thunderbird and Firefox I would like to point out there is another extension biased of this one which is actively being developed by me. See https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2831

I only take the liberty of posting this review because one of the original developers emailed be recently with this to say (only part of a longer email):

"I've heard from others that another extension existed. Sure enough, I saw it did. Thank you very, very much for taking over this concept. It was needed desperately when Mook and I worked on it. And it's still needed now. What you've done is wonderful. Great work!"

I had this gadget for a year using previous version of Thunderbird. The problem that I encounter is that when I right-click on the icon the menu is not presented to create an email for example.

I edited the .xpi for you and put it up on my Rapidshare account. I did the same thing a while ago for Fasterfox and it's still up also. Download the .xpi to your desktop, open Thunderbird 3.0, go to Tools ---> addons and drag the .xpi into the box. Works perfectly! (unless they go higher than version 5.0 anytime soon LOL)
