The user needs more control. Like a registry cleaner (never use them if you like your machine), it removes things by pattern. If it doesn't understand, it deletes. It has too much potential for damage. The prefs.js file should be backed up before use and that backup ability added to this extension. Only hackers should attempt to use this in its present form.

Well, it's damage. This addon doesn't work with several addons (e.g RequestPolicy etc). Some many values stay instead to be deleted.Also, this addon is very poor. There's only a few features. For example, you can't see which values in about:config will be removed by this addon...It's can be dangerous, if you don't take care.
At least, I find a solution which consist to edit the pref.js file in the Firefox profil. This addon doesn't allow to do that too...
Also, I advice you to correct/change the name of the .xpi file. In the profil, it's not easy to determinate which file is the eCleaner addon. Instead of eCleaner.xpi it's something like that :"{c72c0c73-4eb0-4fb3-af0f-074e97326cfd}.xpi". It's very practical...Some developers take care about that and some many users enjoy this.

what is missing is that it generates a list of add-ons installed and an option to "clean everything uninstall add-ons" would be perfect

I was surprised that there was so much left from old add-ons. I thought add-ons didn't suffer from this problem when being uninstalled. The only thing I still miss is automatic detection of uninstalled add-ons like CCleaner with programs does.

If I'm right 1,5 year after it's first release this is still the only release available. Allthough I would like to use it the risk is big that I'm gonna delete stuff from extensions that are still in use and that have different names than the names under which some extensions appear in the list. Therefore first of all the list should only show the extensions that are removed. Not just all the extensions.

sweet and simple. Cleared a surprising amount from my browser. I used to think that, because i delete most of them, adding lots of addons didn't make my browser slower, but there was a notable increase in speed after using this. (I am an addons addict, admittedly, but if you are too, you should add this.)

Nice idea that needs development. My suggestions A) At very least a "best guess" at items that are part of an installed extension or them. B) Logging changes when an extension is added. C) Links to the extension that caused the entry.

Ive been looking for a long time for something like this :)
What would absolutely make it perfect is some way to also remove leftover files and folders from the profile folder in user/app/roaming in windows. I have no idea if its possible, but a suggestion cant hurt ;)

Kindly show list of uninstalled addons in different window / tab / check box in next version, so one can easily find them.
I have more than 59 add-ons installed and there is lots of UN-installed garbage left behind. and its not easy to find it in very long list of installed and uninstalled addons.
