I really like the concept, but it needs support for Google apps(not just free gmail) for it to be of any use for me.

Having played around with Lightning and failed to get it to link to my Google Calendar I discovered "Google Calendar Tab". A great, simple idea to show the GCal page as a tab in Thunderbird. A very elegant solution I thought - until I tried to get at my Task List. Oh dear, how sad to fall at this "last hurdle". Seems I'm not alone in having this issue. Is anything being done, or do I have to go back to fighting with Lightning??

great app. Despite a few shortfalls, I still use because its a pain to add all my calendars via lightning to all the various computers I use (I use way too many).
I wish tasks worked. as well as being able to change calendar colors and changing many of the settings. If it worked as a true web page in a tab, it would be perfect.

This works great combined with lightning.
Use this for a full calendar tab and then add a read only calendar to lightning using the google pvt url to show your upcoming appointments in the today pane!

nice app, but doesn't show Google tasks and that is the only thing that made me dump lightning...

This is the best method of having google calendars in Thunderbird.

would be nice if it displayed the tasks as well.
i need to use some other app for tasks.

im a little comfused, with know if new ad-dons were loaded,I>m new to Mozilla. I wanted to have a calander to be my home page so i could wake and see today errands, appointments etc. thanks for all the work, i am finding the new learning of Mozilla stimulating.

Great idea! Very simple approach to adding Google Calendar into Thunderbird but it works perfectly for me!

Very handy. Would be nice if the tab could be set to be open by default (maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere?).
Also if you get stuck with a Google "verify" email page, and your password doesn't work, go to Tools >> Options >> Security >> Web Content, and delete the Google cookie to log back in.

I'm giving it 5 stars because it works perfect for Google Calendar...
... but it doesn't support tasks which should be a whole lot simpler than Google Calendar.
NickF got this working for GQueues, a far more complicated task application, and Facebook, etc.
It SHOULD be possible to work with Google Tasks.
Can you please figure out why it doesn't work for GTasks and update it?
If so, it would be the killer extension and would utterly replace Lightning, Provider, etc.
