Outlook and Teams meeting invitations show up in Thunderbird with no attachment, so there's no way to get them into your calendar. This add-on adds a button that opens them in your calendar app — or right-click it to save the .ics file instead.

When someone sends you a meeting invitation from Outlook or Teams, Thunderbird shows you the email but no attachment. There's no way to get the meeting into your calendar. If you use Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or anything other than Thunderbird's built-in calendar, that invitation is stuck.
This add-on fixes that. It adds an "Open invitation" button to the message toolbar that takes the meeting details hidden inside the email and hands them straight to your calendar app.
Prefer to keep a copy instead? Right-click the button and switch it to "Save invitation" — you'll get a normal save dialog.
# Using it
Open an invitation, then click the button in the **message header toolbar** — the one inside the reading pane, not the toolbar at the top of the window. If it isn't there, right-click that toolbar and choose **Customize**.
- Open invitation (default) — saves the file to your downloads folder and opens it in your calendar app.
- Save invitation — opens a save dialog so you can choose where it goes.
Right-click the button to switch. The choice is remembered, and the label always shows what a click will do.
