Installed "ImportExportTools" extension as instructed, but the "Import mbox file" option is grey i.e. not usable under menu "Tools/ImportExportTools".
Can anyone please tell me any other alternative to import mbox file? Thank you very much!
As it's written above,
"Note: if you want to import messages or MBOX files, you must first select a valid folder as a target, otherwise the import options are disabled"
Select "Local Folders" and the option will be active

Whats the point in this programe?? I backup every night yet just now I tried to restore my emails and I get the mess "NO EMAILS IMPORTED" now thanks to my stupidity depending on this programme I've lost my deleted emails after backing them up ?? Wtf
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.2.4.1).You haven't lost anything, backup files are in MBOX format, so you must use the option to import MBOX files.

Saved me a divorce after I deleted my wife's emails when I was trying to sort out a Thunderbird problem. Thanks for a great piece of software.

Thanks for your great Job ! You give me a chance to keep my job and escape from the anger of my CEO
I encounter an issue with a massive import of .eml files, from a 40GB export .pst file .
No error message, but the import seems to crash after few directories creation.
Is there a limitation or recommendation of size for mass import ?

I have an 800MB archive (one folder containing many) I had simply dragged out of the TB Email folder last year. Thousands of Emails properly sorted. I wanted to add new Emails to it but dragging the folder back (it would be so simple!) doesn't work (TB doesn't see it - thanks Mozilla for that!). Either I get tons of new folders with meaningless names created, or I get folders that are empty when I try importing a sub-folder. Needs better documentation. I'm not willing to risk my Email archive getting corrupted by this add-on.

Pros;
-Works great, saves hours of work.
-Easy to understand.
-Many options.
Cons;
Will not import messages from a single mbox file (forwarded from an account, to the same account.) e.g. account01@mail.org sent to account01@mail.org

1. When exporting a folder, be sure to right click on the folder itself inside TB. Otherwise, you are exporting whichever folder you happen to have highlighted when you start -- this isn't made clear anywhere.
2. It is slow, and no progress bar. Just go to the exported file location and watch the file size change. If changing, then working...

Used the ImportExportTools EXPORT PROFILE option before wiping my computer and performing a fresh install of Windows 10.
After installing Thunderbird and adding ImportExportTools again I used the IMPORT PROFILE option and it worked perfectly. (Mailboxes, folders, addresses, THE LOT! )
TOP TIP: During the import process, select the folder then just type whatever you like in the box 'Name of the profile to import'.

The best add-on for Thunderbird. A must have. You export your emails with just one click. This should be added as a Thunderbird default. Thanks so much for this helpful plugin!!!

(TB 31.6.0)
This issue should be fixed in 3.2.2 version
