cool extension indeed. it works great.
just one suggestion. If it can indicate whether a mail is already read, it would be excellent that I can read all unread message by just click this visaulising graph

This add-on would have been perfect for me BUT, sadly, each time I download messages it seems to rebuilt it's library. I manage a very large amount of mail, this library (or index) building process takes forever and it significantly slows down my Thunderbird application making it useless to use. I uninstalled the add-on but I really hope this will be fixed so I can install it again and use it in the future.

Apollon77 said, "I have the problem that it seems that the extension has index anything, but I only see "loading Treadvis ..." and the small icons on the right of each message."
I have the same experience. This sounds like a nice idea, but so far nothing is happening.

Yes , webpage is currently unavailable (see post from julia485). I have the problem that it seems that the extension has index anything, but I only see "loading Treadvis ..." and the small icons on the right of each message. Any idea?

the product itself seems great. as everyone else is saying. i am just a bit worried about the log files.. and when i try to go to the threadvis website I get this: "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete." why do i get send into an endless loop when trying to acess the support website?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.510).The server configuration changed while I was on holiday, which broke the redirect script. It's working again.

Great and innovative add-on! This should be standard in future Thunderbird versions. It only receives four stars, though, because it is still a bit buggy.

This plugin is AWESOME but you need the latest version, which doesn't seem to be posted here. As of this writing, it's 1.0.510 and you can get it at http://www.student.tugraz.at/ahubmann/threadvis

This provides a crucial missing feature for anyone who wants to practice Inbox Zero: the ability to retrieve the rest of the thread (stored in other folders) from a single message in the Inbox. The one (serious) drawback is that it becomes very slow with large IMAP folders. Since I like to store my entire email history, that makes the plugin almost unusable :(

This addon should come standard with TB
Well done

1. I don't know how to programme computers, but I can do HTML and sites, my job is to build buildings etc. because I am an architect; I'm very visually orientated and lazy to read, but then I think that is one of the reasons for using computers.
2. Thank you & congratulations for creating this extension, I have been looking for this for a long time;
3. I would like it if:-
4. The user should be able to assign a colour to his or her email(s) addresses, that belong to him / her, makes seeing the root or his position in the thread easier; Even though there is a legend.
5. Maybe even assign colours to people they frequently correspond with, (i.e. my engineer could have his own colour in my TB thus I always know where he is in the thread.
6. The legend should be something that slides across or hides with in the extension's space, if find the popup irritating as the screen is already full of text, and my attention in focused inside the extensions space.
7. I don't understand what the cut message and paste message options does, but it would be great if-»
8. When the program does not see that a message is part of a thread, that we can add it to the thread. So the thread could be dynamic.
9. Could this dynamic thread span across folders?
10. Could Receipts have there own colour so that I can ignore them, like grey, but still be included in the thread or filtered out.
11. Giving threads names, that can be selected, and then all the emails relating to that thread would be displayed. Example in a TB folder where I store a particular projects email, I could have different threads like design, cupboards, swimming pool. So if I am looking for an email from the engineer regarding a design issue or a swimming pool issue they would not be linked. (Maybe in the future google would purchase this from you - :-) as the key words would allow for targeted advertising, or am I just dreaming?)
12. My future wish list:
13. That we can add appointments and todo tasks, (from lightening) to the threads
14. The liner graphics dropped to a parent - child structure
P.S. I know that it is always easy for some on like me how does not know anything about computers to just ask...
Once again thank you for the extension, I hop you will develop it further... Well Done!

Good! 1) But some incompatible with Mnenhy when using customized longer header which causes flickering of Mnenhy header height severely. 2) Be better to user define the display of ThreadVis on the header which occupies too many spaces when there're more other TB addon installed using the same spaces like Display Mail User Agent and Country Lookup. 3) Very strangely that this addon can't be disabled from TB.

This feature may give me what I've really needed and wanted for so long..., which is described in http://www.43folders.com/comment/337334/Missing-Email-Feature and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=229568. I just enabled cacheing in my "history" folder (which saves *all* my correspondence) and now I can "tug" on the thread of any message in my inbox to get back to anything backwards in history. I would be very glad to help you with your effort in any way possible, especially if it helps your system work efficiently on huge imap folders ;-)

i have not expected that much, but it really adds a lot of helpful value to my work with emails! it provides a visual overview over the thread of that particular email with an astounding depth of information. for me within TB 20014 it works flawlessly (i guess if warning messages are displayed it is because of erroneous configurations). i cannot but just love the tool!

This extension is definitely a great extension, very useful when you want to get an thread overview. It does the same as the standard TB thread view, but the big feature is that it allows to navigate through all your folders at the same time. That's huge ! Thanks a lot.

I really, really, like this add-on and have been waiting for something like it for quite a while. Ever since IBM showed a proof-of-concept for this I have been drooling at the prospect of my email client incorporating it.
I think ThreadVis has pushed me away from Mail.app and toward Thunderbird permanently.
The only downside is that it does not yet work with Thunderbird 3.x.
** UPDATE **
I have been talking with the developer and he knows about the problem with "virtual" (saved search) folders and it should be fixed in the next release. Also, it should be 3.x compatible. That will correct both of my major problems with ThreadVis and will probably move me to start using the TB 3.x beta much more.

This tool helps a lot on navigating through mail threads and is really cool and intuitive to use.
BUT: There is always a warning from thunderbird (command not successful, mailbox does not exist).
I'm using the 3-row-view in thunderbird so there is not much space left for the messageheader. Therefor I would like the tool just to consume the space it needs for the graph and not to take the full width always.

I had read about this visualisation method, but seeing it in action is even better!
The extension seems to work without problems, and the only thing it would need are some graphic and interface refinements.
Great work!
