great add on, it little bit slow. conversion in mp3 it it is done in 2 steps, but it is working and on top of that is free. you don't have to many options for downloading / converting

so...is there a limit to how long audio has to be? I only seem to get 1:40 out of every file I save.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.8.9.1-signed).The newest version is on www.glimmersoft.com (3.0.2). It includes fixes for youtube updates and should work now :). You might need to let the first few videos play to completion and reload the page (it sometimes needs a bit of time to figure out how a given video works), but after a day or so it'll be 100% :)

Seems to be working fine and is easy to set up. However, the download itself is quite slow.

While it has a charming list of features, they don't work. Anything other default lettings and letting it run on its own results in static and corrupt files. Also, an mp3 at 192 bitrate length of 4 minutes should not have a file size of 9mb.

When it works, it's the best it can be. But it never works for me for more than a month before something goes wrong, probably because of the frequent FF updates. For three months now it hasn't worked for me (nothing to click on under the video; no Options button on the bar on the FF A-O page to allow me to direct the info to appear under the video; etc.). And now Norton keeps removing the new .exe patch as soon as I download it from the developer's page. So for me, it's a dormant, unworkable A-O. However, my advice is still to add it just in case it will work for you because if it does, you'll absolutely LOVE it, sufficiently enough that I give it a full five stars despite my own personal struggles/failures with it.

please fix a problem for the cropping which is not working in the latest firefox 23.0 and add more features :)

A great add-on! Have used for some time with zero problems!
Recently has been unable to download from some videos, but this seems to be the doing of a blocker on Youtube's side, NOT an add-on bug. (I could download from a vid one week, the next week same vid & I couldn't)
Still recommend this add-on!
@ledwardz... try Audacity for editing mp3s.
Youtube's changed how some of their downloads work. They have different streams for audio video. There's now a patch on www.glimmersoft.com, and it should be up here before long. :) Thanks!

Finally!! a mp3 downloader without the crap. one click and it downloads! the only issue i have is that when listening to mixes i can't seperate each track.

Other add-ons to download content from youtube may be great, but this one specializes in audio. Just what I need!

I have been using this addon for about 4-7 years and stopped using anything else because it works so well. If I have issues it is usually because of FF updates so I just uninstall that update and reload in the older FF version again Cheers. Your the best.

downloaded this add-on and all was well until you click 'download mp3.
clicked the little green download arrow and up with the song as file size 0 bites and the length of the track was nowhere near the length of the song.
tried it a few times as mp4 etc to make sure it was not me, it still didn't work, 0 bites again and other random track lengths
do not waste your time with this add-on, would give this a 0 star
There's a pre-release of 2.9.3 on the home page ( www.glimmersoft.com ) which should fix MP3 downloads (there's a bit more work to do for some of the video). Thanks!

Wont download anything. Don't know if this is because of an update or what but it used to work great.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.8.9.1-signed).Youtube made some changes to their site last month. The new Nightly Builds on www.glimmersoft.com have a fix for it, and it'll be up on mozilla.org in a week or two.
On the downside, Dailymotion is broken once more, and I'm working on fixing that. Thanks!

I've downloaded this plugin for its speed and tagging feature. While I'm downloading a MP3 from YouTube, the plugin gives me text boxes for tags (Song, Singer, Album). I'm writing tags and clicking download button. It downloads the file, opens a cmd window and closes it quickly. When I looked for my downloaded MP3, it doesn't contain the tags which I've written down. (I'm using latest version of the plugin on Nightly 25.0 (This bug happens w/ Firefox 22.0, too.))

Before the latest update I was able to fast-download 1h50m long podcast [about 170MB file size] and covert it to MP3 [this process takes 2-4m] After updating the latest version download speed crawl down to 20+ Kb/s
*Download are started by pressing the MP3 button. Debug is not turned on. Volume control is not turned on.
Could this be an issue with the addon itself of has YouTube set to truly enforce their do not download policy?
Other than this issue, this is a great addon, I consider it to be the best of its kind.
to their network. I have the same issue in my region where videos take forever to download or even buffer. They're trying to improve overall network performance, but it does seem to be causing some speed issues...

This add-on works great! The only downside with this add-on: the audio quality of the MP3's is very poor (my opinion).
