This is an excellent product which does everything I want. Just one minor issue is that it always shows the first telephone number as Work and the second as Home, regardless of the category given in Thunderbird.

In the 21st century it should not be necessary to print emails, but yet, this doesn't seem to be known by public authorities, administrations and superiors: far too often do they request printed emails. I only wish they would have to chop down the trees by their own bare hands to get the paper for this. ;)
Thanks to this tool, you can minimize the waste of paper!
I vaguely remember that it was possible to choose which headers should be printed and which should not be printed at all. Either this was another tool, and I am sorry if I confuse it, or this option has been removed, and if so, I would like to ask you to include this option (again).

It would be an opportunity to add to the settings tab «Headers order» remove unnecessary for display on the print field (eg To, CC, etc.).

Works as described, giving more control to the usually awkward printing layout of e-mails. Can save you a lot of time if you often copy the text to a word processor for adjustments and print your e-mails from there.

The option window does not close properly on the latest Thunderbird 24.5.0 ("OK" does not work). Please fix it thanks :)
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.4).Ok I will fix it soon, in the meantime you can access the options panel from the "File" menu --> Printing options, it works properly from there

Disapointing. The date is a pretty important field yet all thats offered is the date of printout not the date received or date received header. Makes plugin useless if this is important and not in the text. (vers 1.2.4)
You could print all the headers - no way to selectively choose just one header, eg the date header which would also have done the trick. Printing all the headers is way to verbose for me, so again I would say a tool that because it is badly thought out ends up as useless.
This extension exists since long time and nobody ever asked me about such a feature, that's why I never thought about it.
Anyway I understand that it can be a useful information to have in the print and so I will try to add this feature in future versions.

Works great with Seamonkey 2.24 after adding the em:targetApplication description, see https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/SeaMonkey_2 .

An excellent paper saver
I installed this a long time ago, and had forgotten about how much irrelevant stuff TB printed by default.
The "TEST item in the menu shouldn't be there, it was just a try...I apologise for that!Anyway there is no side effect about that. It's fixed in 1.2.2 version, pending for approvation.

Why would anyone want to print the headers by default. This is just a stupid TB default? Thanks for fixing it.
Question - once I set my preferences, can I disable the PrintingTools extension, then re-enable it only if I want to make a change?

Thank you very much for this great plugin.
I would like to ask you a new feature:
- hide mailbox information in header
- hide title in header

Please continue developing this add on, is a livesaver! I hate to print emails, and I so happy to be able to choose WHAT I WANT to print. Great work!

Does what it says on the package :)
Running it on TB 17.0.2 to hide headers.
No worries

Please, any chance you could develop this to run in Seamonkey? Many of us there need to print our emails

C'est exactement ce que je cherchais ...
Je peux enfin imprimer sans avoir des entêtes sans fin!
Un grand merci!
Grazie!

I can't print any messages without this add-on :)
However, I will rate 5 stars if I can choose headers to print. 'CC' header or attachments list are not needed to print on some messages.

Great addon! But for some reason, all of a sudden, I can no longer add the user name before the headers. Maybe a minor bug with the last update? Keep up the good work.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1).Yes, 1.1.1 version had a terrible typo... 1.1.2 should work fine.

the developer was very responsive to my observations,
the first issue is in fact resolved with the release identified;
i raise my rating due to the above and the fact that the developer is willing to consider the suggestion made;
i look forward to experimenting with the other features.
now if mozilla could just get a handle on the page break issue
