I used the link to a CSV file which allowed huge flexibility. It's a must to have it go to Send Later because you can preview and see all your own mistakes before sending.

A simple and effective utility that works. I had some difficulty setting up the initial configuration, and the developer answered my emails promptly and courteously, with clarification pitched at my level of understanding. Five well-deserved stars, and well worth the donation.

It's Great, thanks a lot.
Now I only have to find the easier way to insert in the text the characters { and }. It will be wonderful if variables could be selected by a menu.

This add-on does what it promises: make email merges simple and intuitive. No difficult installation or technical settings required, just easy to configure personalized messages to a predefined list of recipients.When I experienced some difficulties (due to my own account settings) the support from the developer was quick and thorough, which solved my problems rapidly.Full five stars from me!

A really usefule Add-On. Don't want to miss it, but I've got trouble with S/MIME. I can't send any message with a digitaly signature.

This is a very useful addon, thank you. There is one issue (on Windows) with non ansi characters. no matter if the csv is in ansi or utf8, if the csv contains non latin characters ( greek for example ) they will be displayed as question marks in the Title field of the email. I tried both settings ( UTF8 / Windows-1252 ) to no avail. I also tried both encodings in the CSV file.This seems to be a bug.

Must to have add-on which makes Thunderbird as comprehensive and capable email program for sending out many customized letters at once.
In case you experience some trouble with umlauts in sent emails just try with different encoding mode in add-on options (UTF-8 or Windows-1252/ANSI). For example when you download CSV from Google Spreadsheet it's in UTF-8, so you should set Mail Merge encoding accordingly. When you open that file with MS Excel all umlauts are messed up and shown öö etc. though. Don't let you bother from it. See how it looks with Notepad. And, most certainly, makes sure how it look in email by sending some test letters to your own address(es).
Of course there are odds and ends which can be better but definitely an add-on worth donation.

Outil très bien conçu et très pratique.
Quelques points pourraient être améliorés :
- Les modèles s'accumulent (on pourrait lors de la génération des mails préciser de ne pas enregistrer le modèle ou alors ne pas enregistrer un modèle strictement identique ou encore analyser les modifications d'un modèle et les répercuter dans le modèle)
- un petit bug crée des mails non désirés pour la première ligne du fichier csv qui contient le nom des champs.
Hormis ces petits points de détail, il est vraiment parfait.

It works well. One problem is that it is very easy to click "Send" instead of File/MailMerge after entering your list of recipients. This leads to the embarassment of an email with {{FieldNames}} rather than the fields values.
Is it possible to prompt for Send if the email contains {{Field}}s?

This is neat add-on but there is one thing that is a must for any mail list manager, and that is the ability to remove dead emails. For example, if Thunderbird can check a specific mail account, one devoted to such newsletters, and while downloading mail check through the replies and sort bounced emails and those with REMOVE in the header... then offer the option of removing them all or reviewing each one in case the address can be corrected or only temporary failure... that would be IDEAL!

Im Anzeigenamen der E-Mail-Empfänger dürfen keine Komma vorkommen, so die Aussage des Entwicklers. Dies betrifft die "An:", "CC:" und "BCC:" Felder von Thunderbird. So besitzt ein gutes Add-on eine unnötige Einschränkung welches die Nutzbarkeit willkürlich einschränkt.
Aus dem Anzeigenamen "Doe, John (Example Ltd.)" des Adressbuches (welches in der E-Mail-Vorlage Verwendung findet) wird ein "John (Example Ltd.)" im Header der versandten E-Mail.

Although TB supports templates itself, it can not customize those templates regarding each recipient. But this addon does it automatically, based on recipient's contact info in address-book or a custom-defined CSV file.
Duty of this addon is completely different from "QuickText" addon. However I still expect more features from this addon!

This is really lovely. Sleek and fast. And with the kind assistance of the developer, I was able to correct a problem: If you are not a programmer, you might think that a space follows a comma. Not so. Kill any spaces around commas and all will sail smoothly. My merges are about as simple as possible. But there were hundreds of e-mails and there'll be more soon. Whew! Thanks.

I register just to say thanks for this very useful plugin. I have not tried all the capabilities that this plugin offers, but for what I need it does the job nicely.

it would be great if in CSV mode:
allow you to specify a folder (not the file)
inside read all CSV files every minute
did dispatch from CSV file
delete the csv
reading csv file again, again, again

Would have given it 5-stars because it is extremely helpful, but it has one small "bug". In the variables, no conditional formatting (e.g. a different color, making text/numbers bold) is supported. This will lead the matching of the CSV and the email {{fields}} to break. Would be a useful addition to the code if possible :-)
