View Dependencies by Florian QUEZE

View Dependencies adds a tab to the Page Info window, in which it lists all the files which were loaded to show the current page.
Collector's Note I WAS WRONG, this add on doesn't raise the speed of browsing even if it was expected to do it ... I cannot chose a reason "why it doesn't speed up" ... some of the add ons may try to open the site we are surfing in another place for recording the use of the add on, but i am not sure if this is the behaviour of V.D. Anyway, the task of this add on can be restored using Live Http Headers (which is another add on from this list). All the comments I left below are now useless as much as the use of the V.D add on for speeding up browsing. 2of2. Is all about speed again. With SQLite optimizer we kicked off the lazy browser processing of history and reindexing and replaced them with a stable operation of "forgetting" and "restarting from roots" the browser like when it started up again. View Dependencies is the next needed add on ... It was noticed long ago that applications with heavy graphic content and with wide range of byte processes - in other words with great CPU and GPU usage - are loaded and processed faster if "in a background stance" today known as background tab, window or timing process or in system tray. Some smart people thought that the current application requests can be settled "ab initio" in the background of the site info, of the page info etc ... and for one good reason: internet speed, loading speed, CPU speed were increased if leaving graphic applications to work in the background (instead of "on screen" as it was intended at the beginnings of internet multimedia). The small page info is imported or transferred to my PC within the same "site request", only it comes first. Sometimes to load faster a movies site was enough to pop up a wizard asking if you wish to load the content of that site "which Wndows was telling us all it may be suspiciously dangerous for our PC" and meanwhile behind the wizard, but in it's background, the site was actually loaded faster than if not popping up that wizard questionnaire. Now you probably understand that this exploit was not used just to help us ... and not only used by the good guys. All the web was invaded by a pop up revolution of so called aggressive marketing. Every pop up was actually helping the heavy graphic content to be loaded on your PCs faster ... this explains why sometimes on a site with pop ups you can see 10 pop ups opened and displayed in 2 seconds together with the site you were visiting ... while on other sites with no pop ups you wait 2 minutes to load its content. Later on someone noticed how using pop ups a hacker can access our PCs ... and so on. Today finally someone decided that we can leave behind the stupid Wndows security pop up wizards questioning us, demanding from us a reply before going any further to our site. Today finally someone decided that we can return to the good use of pop upping with View Dependencies ... an add on which shows us everything we need or not need to know about the sites we are visiting ... but an add on which settles our site request in the background of View dependencies add on process which brings speed to our GPU and CPU processes. May seem just a small and poor enhancement, but you will see that this small add on is bringing alive the second best innovation in using ON SCREEN applications on your computer: the BACKGROUND ("tab" is most common today) This is why View dependencies stands as my second speed enhancer i install whenever using Firefox. Some may object that this is an extension and is running as an external process not interfering with the internal main browser set up ... and they are right: it is an extension, but is scheduled to run faster than every other "on screen" process when requesting a new site ... and by its speed is leaving in background the loading of the site ( "different processing time" ) which is like when we would have a movie loaded behind an "about blanc" page - our site behind the View dependencies extension. In its description you wont find anything about speeding up the ON SCREEN applications ... because this is a knowledge for real pros.
