These versions are displayed for reference and testing purposes. You should always use the latest version of an add-on.

Version 3.1 66.3 KiB Works with Thunderbird 102.0 and later

- Insertion mode of templates created in versions < 3.0 was not respected. This has been fixed now.
- Message templates associated with all accounts were included in the template list on tab general. This has been fixed now.
- Plain text quote header improvement.
- Overriding composition font behaviour has been restored to pre 3.0 version, i.e. deactivating template feature will not ignore the font.

Changes:
  • Upgrading from older versions to version 2.5 caused this addon to not working as expected. This issue has been fixed on version 2.6.
  • Double clicking on the quote preview area will also open the quote header options dialog.

Fixes:
  • Previously some options of the quote header option dialog were hidden after clicking More button.This has been fixed.
  • Added a new option for changing quote header font face.
  • Fixed quote header field To to allow including email address.
  • Improved writing experience with IME of the WYSIWYG editor for languages such as Japanese so that the word selection popup is always presented next to the cursor.

Version 2.4 35.5 KiB Works with Thunderbird 95.0 and later

Changes:

  • Template menu which was missing on version 2.3 is now restored.
  • Signature handling logic has been changed. It is now possible to use signature from file.

User note:
Users upgrading from previous version are encouraged to read the documentation about the signature first as this is a breaking change.

Changes:
  • Manifest update to make Advanced Composer compatible with Thunderbird 115.*.
  • When deleting a template, the associated shortcut was not removed. This has been fixed now.
  • Minor UI updates.

Maintenance release:
  • For Thunderbird with multiple accounts, when replying to a mail with the context menu `Reply With Attachments` the identity of the sender was not reliably set to the correct one. This is now fixed.
  • For Thunderbird with multiple accounts, when creating a new mail with the context menu `New To Recipients` the identity of the sender was not reliably set to the correct one. This is now fixed.

    Fixes:
    • Restart was required after enabling templates and recipient groups features. Now this issue has been fixed.
    • Inserting a plaintext template was only possible by placeholder. This has been fixed now.

    General setting improvements:
    • New menu item to initiate mail composition to the recipients of an existing mail.
    • New menu item to reply a mail by including the attachments of the original message.
    • It is now possible to change mail subject prefix from Re: to RE: and Fwd: to FW:.

    Quote header improvements:
    • Quote header is now available for both HTML and plaintext messages.
    • Quote header is now configurable for each mail account. It can also be disabled for certain accounts.
    • Quote header now has more customization options.

    Message template improvements:
    • Both HTML and plaintext formats are now supported.
    • A template can be associated with specific mail account instead of all accounts.
    • It is now possible to insert a template by shortcut.
    • It is now possible to determine where in the Thunderbird editor to put a template by specifying the insertion method or by assigning a placeholder to the template.
    • A template can have a mail subject.

    Signature improvements:
    • It is now possible to use Thunderbird signature as message signature.

    Message recipient improvements:
    • A recipient group can be associated with a mail account.
    • When creating or editing a recipient group, mail adresses will be automatically sorted.
    • While editing a recipient group, mail addresses can be displayed one address per line to improve readability.
