I liked it.
A neat feature would be to set a bookmarks folder to a group and it would automatically all the bookmarks in the folder into the dial.

Hi Hals,

thanks for your suggestion. I've a couple of ideas on how to do this, so check the change log in 1-2 months :)

Appears a lot of work went into it and cudos for that.
Takes a while to set up,but because of the eye candy I'll keep it.

Went to the website and got the latest version but no weather until I clicked and bookmarked the Actuweather website.
Since I live in Canada I got Environment Canada-weather only.
One benefit is I got rid of forecastfox which I believe has a privacey problem.
Since the multirow bookmarks extension came out this one is not as much needed.
But on the whole good work and very nice.

Good extension, but way too many options in the latest versions for my taste. Now I'm looking for a simple Opera style speeddial, something with bare minimum of features, Speed dial light?

Would it be possible for you to do something similar to foxtab for the next version?

Absolutely the best! I have it installed on several computers and it just makes my life so much easier. One thing, for some reason I can not get my gmail account to show a thumbnail on a recent install of Speed Dial. Any ideas? Gmail loads when I click the dial, it just has no thumbnail. Thanks for a terrific program!

PROBLEM: I have my options set to open a thumbnail in a new background tab when I rightclick it, it used to work really well but once I upgraded to 0.9, I keep getting my rightclick context menu when I do that. I used to not get it... I've already looked in the options and tried different things, even changed the option to "do nothing" when I rightclick a thumb. But I still get my rightclick menu. Any suggestions?

I LOVE Speed Dial! I have it on all my computers, my laptop. I do not reformat w/o putting that back in.

I noticed a glitch, and I've noticed it on XP as well as Vista, on Dual Core Processors and P4's.

When I have a tab open and I click "home" going back to my speed dial home page, the thumbnails do not work and will not go to the page I select. I have to close out the tab, reopen the tab, then the thumbnails work.

I've seen this on different computer/OS's, so is this just a glitch, or is there something in the settings that I don't have set right?

Other than that, I recommend SD to everyone. It's one of my favourites. :)

It's a bug, but unfortunately I have never experienced it on my computer, so I'm unable to fix it until then. If someone is having this problem consistently, and want to help hunt it down, contact me by email.

I only have two complaints and they might be able to be resolved but I haven't figured out how to solve them just yet after searching all over the net.

1.) The no scaling option for the thumbnails does not center your images so that you won't see the background color on the thumbnail dial. It takes part of the image and zooms in on it instead of centering the entire image itself. There should be an option to NO scale the image itself so that you can only see the image CENTERED in the thumbnail dial.

2.) It takes a while (for opening a new tab) roughly 3 seconds for my about:blank page to load up with the thumbnails and custom background. When I was using Fast Dial (which I've recently switched over to try out Speed Dial) as soon as I clicked on the new tab button my about:blank page with Fast Dial would immediately load up with all of my thumbnails and custom background. It wasn't sluggish and it didn't take 3 seconds to load up.

Other than that I like it. I would recommend it. It is very customizable and unlike Fast Dial the developer (so far at least) doesn't include spam in his updates.

Although, I do have to say I think Fast Dial slightly wins out since it is more customizable, but the developer is horrible at updates though.

I don't know about Fast Dial, but Speed Dial will never contain spam, malware, or any kind of unintended software bundled with it.

About "no scaling", it should center the thumbnail, and not scale it. If there's scaling, then there's a bug, and it would be great if you could contact me with the details.

About the second, are you using Firefox 3.1 beta? I noticed that in that version it takes forever to load, and I believe it's because of a bug in the cache system. I definitely plan to fix this before the final Firefox 3.1 version.

I'm surprised that you don't find Speed Dial customizable enough. Perhaps you refer to the thumbnails "theme"? Functionality wise, it has the ability to open programs, documents, execute javascript and more.

I think this is just great. I use it every day. Is there a way to scroll the tabs at the top? I have quite a few speed dial tabs. Thanks for the hard work!

Not at the moment... I believe that dial groups are better than scrolling (faster access). However, quite a lot of people ask for scroll, so I'll probably add it as an option.

Only one request to the manufacturer... can you please add an entry to the context menu - so I can easily add bookmarked items to a group. Otherwise, simply outstanding.

Fantastic. I have distinct groups of sites I use at different times. Using Speeddial is like having multiple home groups. Also set up a temporary group for sites related to a research project. That group will later be deleted.

I really like this addon. Now I can group these bookmarks also.

Your extension is great but you are missing the "search box" at top like in the "FAST DIAL" addon.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.0.3).

Why adding another search bar when you can use the one that already exists in Firefox? There's a option in the Speed Dial settings that will place the cursor in the Firefox search bar when Speed Dial is opened. Go to the Speed Dial settings panel, "Main" tab, and in "When Speed Dial opens" list choose "Focus search bar".

相对于speed dial,chrome那种启动页就不算什么了,还是能自己定制的好。不过老电脑上有点影响firefox启动速度,毕竟是要载入截图的

It helps me monitor the different web sites I maintain at a glance. I know what is up and what is down.
I work between my office PC and my laptop and it would be really cool if there was a way to sync between the two or a way to back Speed Dial up like Xmarks has.
Anyways, thanks for this really great extension!

Great addon. I use both Opera and Firefox, and this feature was something I missed in firefox. Also pleasantly suprised at the fact you can scroll the thumbnail image using the mouse wheel... excellent!

I like it but, on ff 3.1b3 it loses its settings on restart. I had luckily exported my settings and need to import it again on every session.

this extension became a basic feature of my tuned firefox. i've never used a bookmarks in my life, so i rather typed needed address in suggested field. so good to use shortcuts like "ctrl-number" for my favorite sites such as social networks and news blogs.
at least i hardly need one feature in this extension. as you agree, there no need to see what is inside a thumnail of the site, which you visiting from time to time. once in a week or 2-3 days. so i need a possibility to add bookmarks of different sites without preview windows. it could be a bar on the bottom of speed dial page.
i could rather use standart firefox bookmark panel but it takes space for itself, which i like to use for browsing pages. thank you, dear developer. :)
