I love it so much, but I've started using tasks in Google Calendar very heavily. Any plans to support Google Calendar tasks going forward?
I'd pay for that feature.
Tasks are not supported by Google yet, but if they change this I'll be implementing tasks too. See:

Well Done
Very well done ;)
I sync to 5 different computers over 3 US States + a mobile laptop, and the fact that my calendar can be manipulated and adjusted as need my several different people, without having to sign into Google, is excellent.
I eagerly await the fix of the bug that will not allow off line reading or archiving, but this small issue has not been a deterrent for over 2 years now.
The bug is also outside of this addons purview.
Thanks for your hard work and the latest update
Regards

Hello SGT McKay
Thank you, I'm glad the provider is helping your business! Unfortunately, providing offline support is not as easy as it sounds. This is an issue that should be fixed in the core product instead, anything else would be quite a hack. We need to find a performant way to generally synchronize two calendars, which may be hard especially with many items in the calendar. We (the Mozilla Calendar Team) have already added readonly offline support, but there are some server-side issues with the provider w.r.t recurring series. If you want to try this, enable the experimental cache in the calendar options and restart.
Hope it helps!

Where do I get Sunbird/Lightning? This extension doesn't work without it. I don't want to use Thunderbird. I like using Sunbird. Thanks. :-D

Leicht zu installieren! Noch leichter zu benutzen!
Leider ein wenig langsam, aber für mich immer noch schnell genug!

Very good, it works great, maybe a more obvious way to connect with Google would help. I like the way that integrates in the mail interface.

Great utility. Extremely helpful. Would be even better if it could provide the ability to set the SMS reminder option as well. As it is today, one has to login to Google Calendar directly in order to set this option for a specific entry. Otherwise, great piece of coding. Keep up the great work!!

This is a good idea in practice, but not implemented very well, perhaps due to google support issues?
Regardless, I've been unable to use this effectively. My own use model is to only save other people's events to my common Google calendar for use at work and home. But the reminder default never seems to work, making it pretty useless for me. You can set a reminder, but seconds later it disappears. Whether edits stick or not seems unpredictable as well.
The real problem is that the support page lacks settings for different use models. Some people may work around the bugs one way, others another. It depends on whether you're creating or saving events, whether you want confirmations (I don't), whether you log into google (I don't), etc. And if you need to edit the internal settings, rather than click on a gui, something's wrong.
I do look forward to 0.6.0 ?? or at least better documentation for this version that covers many use models and enumerated settings. The concept of being liberated from MS Outlook is right on!

oh.. and dont' forget to read this great article...
http://bfish.xaedalus.net/?p=239
the only crappy part was that i had relied on iphone calendar in essentially island mode (vista mail is not detected by itunes) so when you go to sync iphone will replace all device data with the google data. And mobile me won't sync unless you have outlook installed so you end up SOL. Oh well. small price.

Awesome. Dont' know what it's doing in the back end but now I have achieved a personal holy grail that I've waited for an entire year. That's to sync iphone contacts and calendar with either the web (gmail/calendar) or a client (thunderbird/lightning) (and I've managed to do all of the above).
"Provider" was the conduit between google calendar and mozilla lightning.
Learn how to sync google calendar/contacts with iphone at http://www.google.com/mobile/apple/sync.html
and you're all set. All syncs in real time from any device, in any direction, bilateral supported.
Sick.

Google calendar already add task. It will be wonderful if GDATA also support this feature.
At any rate this addon is totally useful.

We have Outlook in our company but I hate it. Its unstable...

easy to use and gets 98%. overheads are slow on multiple calendars (6). Main drawback is the repeat function. This did not work
Lightning to Google - just got loads of incorrect entries suggests a feedback loop.
However Google to Lightning worked fine.
Config (XP (fully updated),Thunderbird 2.0.021, Lightning 0.9)
