This is a very useful AddOn! I use it since several years.
But it seem to interfere with "Thunderbird Conversations". Could you please contact Jonathan Protzenko the developer of "Thunderbird Conversations" for integration again?
Great Thanks!

Just as "aguenther" said, it doesn't work.
When clicked on "Open" it simply opens the "Opens with" dialog box"
Some time back it use to work though, not anymore (TB 17.0)

This conflicts with Caldev/SoGo(Inverse) functions. I use Davmail Gateway to pull in Calendaring, emails, tasks, etc. Pretty much breaks the Exchange functions. So if you're using any Calendaring feature for Exchange don't add this

Displays content of the winmail.dat, but instead of extracting it, just makes copies of said file with the names of the internal files.

Works great for decoding winmail.dat attachments in Thunderbird 15.

Arbeitet im Hintergrund, kein Zusatzaufwand zum Öffnen der Attachments nötig. Perfekt!

This Add-On is great, and worked first time, so much easier than going back to sender telling them you can't read their emails. Very Good work!.

This Add-On is the final element to make Thunderbird a true Outlook replacement. When combined with:
Lightning and Zindus and using IMAP access to a Zimbra server you have a solution that can effectively replace Outlook. This specific Add-On allows Thunderbird to interact with other users using Outlook. Very well done.

Didn't seem all that compelling at first but it worked like charm. All office attachments which I lost were fixed by this. It's awesome to use an add-on which adds so much value..Great Job guys !!!

I installed it, I can see the attachement, but it does not want to open it, after several error messages. Rebbot, open mail, try to open winmail.dat...and nothing. Something wrong? BTW, I'm working with TB 12.0.1

I loaded a message in Thunderbird 10, which contained a winmail.dat attachment (~1.2 MB). As a result of that I received for about 10 minutes numerous messages:
"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
Script: chrome://lookout/content/tnef.js:1105"
I clicked Continue on each of them. After that I tried to open one of the resultant attachments and again received numerous messages with the same text. During that I noticed that the memory usage of Thunderbird fluctuated widely (it doubled several times for brief moments).
After several minutes Thunderbird finally showed an Open dialog window.

this is perfect extension for file that have name "winmail.dat". but i have problem if the file doesn't have extension .dat or just winmail. I recieved email with attachment winmail and followed by account name without extension file (example : winmail anderson), so this attachment can't be opened directly by thunderbird.
i can open this attachment with third party program in ubuntu with tnef.
any suggestion ?

Muy buen programa, aunque sería completo para mi si funcionara con Thunderbird Conversations.

Second that, Lookout should be compatible with Thunderbird Conversations, or maybe it's the other way around? Other than that, great work!

It is great - thx. Please make it compatibility with Conversations - I'd love to have them both working at the same time!!

TB 8 works but needs to update compatibility

With TH 8.0 and LookOut 1.2.13 I don't see the attachment...
But if I click "Forward" magically it appears in the new window!
Also, if I send to myself the originally mail, in the new email the attachment is visible!
There are solutions?
