This addon was perfect for my needs: adding the signature at the current position of the cursor.
I said "was" because, unfortunately, it works no more with Thunderbird 60.
Is the developer planning a new release? Would be really appreciated.

Thank you Erik. Thunderbird 60: not now, but we will see if mozilla releases a migration documentation how to migrate apps from xul to xpcom...
