The free BirdTray tool works fine to replace this addon.
Thunderbird 91 includes native support of minimize to tray (there's an option), but starting it minimized doesn't seem to work currently.

This addon does not work with TB 60.x anymore

Updates etc. are probably not in sight, have some google interviewed, unfortunately, not really found something new.

It was really a long time really meaningful u. useful addon.

Since there are probably no new versions for a long time, this is really great addon rather than dead to look at.

Very good tool, unfortunately doesn't work with TB higher than 52.9.1 (with 52.9.1 it works perfect). There is no alternative for this. minimizetotray-reanimated for example makes it possible to minimze to tray yes, but you still have to do it manually once at startup of windows.

EDIT: Now User morat from mozillazine gave me Version minimize_on_start_and_close_1.3.2.2 it works like charme with v60.4-x64

I have used this for years , it is the only way to get Thunderbird to do what it should always have been able to do, without an add-on. Minimize at Start. It stopped working with Version 60 but I works ok if you go to the trouble to set
<extensions.strictCompatibility> to false, now a happy Thunderbird user again till they stuff it up again.

Unfortunately after the latest update it is no longer possible to install it and it stopped working. All other extensions don't do the same job: just minimize Firefox when the PC is started. The standard 'minimize' option from Windows doesn't work either. So it's no longer possible to have Firefox minimized to the start bar. Anybody any suggestions? Other than switching to Chrome?

Hi, Fredrik,

this little add-on of yours - I simply love it! It's ever so helpful.
But: The "Minimize on close" doesn't work any longer 8•(
When clicking the X in the upper right corner Firefox disappears and is gone ... (that's been happening now for some weeks).
I've just upgraded to the x64 version of FF and here I have the same behaviour, unfortunately.
Is this a known bug or is it a feature? Are there any suggestions or remedies?

Die Erweiterung wird von mir seit langer Zeit verwendet und geschätzt. Sie funktioniert sowohl in Mozilla Firefox als auch Mozilla Thunderbird einwandfrei und erleichtert den Alltag in sehr praktischer Art! Danke für die Pflege dieses Produktes!

Thats a pitty.. I now deactivated the addon and switched to "MinimizeToTray revived" but unfortunately it does not simply minimize TB as this addon did, but lays it to the tray.

I found another option now my Firefox and Thunderbird always goes to minimize no matter what!

Hardly works at all in Thunderbird 45.1 used to work fine but had to uninstall it and find other options.
