Remove Duplicate Messages

Wurdearring: 3 fan de 5 stjerren

EDIT: breaks for some cases with large folders / large messages. (Plugin will hang, and TBird must be killed.) Also gets confused by differences in some client-side headers (X-Antispam, in my case). For now, I'm using a combination of this version and the original Remove Duplicates, in order to work around these problems.

Will update this review when I have more info.

KeePass Helper

Wurdearring: 2 fan de 5 stjerren

Great little add-on, makes using keepass much easier. Unfortunately, it seems to break undo-close-tab in FF 49. When you try to re-open a tab, the content fails to load, and you get a blank white page with a progress spinner in the middle. Disabling this add-on fixes the problem. Damn!

Expertspam

This plugin is good, in that it's a lot less of a hassle than logging in to the spamexperts website, saving the email to a file, and uploading it with a browser.

However, it needs a couple of things:

1) the ability to report ham as well as spam
2) a button for the main toolbar, not just the message header toolbar
3) on the spamexperts website itself, some way of finding mails that have been reported, and unreporting them or changing ham/spam status. (In case you fatfinger the wrong mail and report it by mistake.)

Ignore Aero

Wurdearring: 5 fan de 5 stjerren

I've been using this theme forever & it's been great - but it seems like with the latest version of TBird, it breaks the chat window. Viewing archived chats looks fine, but starting a new one results in a messed-up chat pane with two tiny boxes in the upper-left of the pane for the chat, instead of the usual full-pane with a split near the bottom.

Last update was 2013, so I'm not sure if it's still actively maintained.

UPDATE: changing my rating to five stars - cheers to the developer for continuing to maintain this plugin. Seriously, I tried using TBird without it for a few days, and I couldn't do it. It's like Darth Vader's mask... You're really curious, but when you finally see the horrifying mess that's underneath it, you can't put it back on fast enough.

Toggle Headers

Wurdearring: 5 fan de 5 stjerren

UPDATE: developer has been great about looking into the problem mentioned below - including discovering a bug in Compactheader & reporting it to that extension's dev. He reports that the latest version of Toggle Headers includes a workaround. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm revising my review score to reflect that TH is super useful in combination with CH, when that relationship is working - and that the dev (mattsch) is very responsive to comments.

------------------------------------

This was a terrific add-on, but it doesn't work properly with Compactheader 2.0.10... Hitting "H" used to expand the headers pane as advertised, now it just blanks the pane out. Hitting "H" twice will expand the pane, but the previous setting isn't remembered, so you have to manually collapse it again.

Compactheader 2.0.10 is required for newer versions of Thunderbird - so basically, Toggle Headers hasn't been updated, and now doesn't completely work as advertised with newer (38+) versions of TBird.

Spamness

Wurdearring: 2 fan de 5 stjerren

Seems like a great idea, but isn't currently working for me. I tried applying mango's fix, but the Spam Rating column is still coming up empty. My x-spam-status headers look like this:

Yes, score=7.4

Also, I noticed that the option dialog has an Advanced tab that seems to anticipate the lower case issue:

function toLowerCase() { [native code]}

But trying to save options gives an error:

"The header you entered contains an invalid character, such as ':', a non-printable character, a non-ascii character, or an eight bit ascii character."

Presumably related to the brackets in the default value - but there's no indication how to correctly implement lowercasing.

Also, trying to use the add-on on an IMAP mailbox results in the following lines being added to your prefs.js:

user_pref("mailnews.customDBHeaders", "function toLowerCase() {\n [native code]\n} function toLowerCase() {\n [native code]\n} function toLowerCase() {\n [native code]\n}");
user_pref("mailnews.customHeaders", "X-Spam-Status: X-Spambayes-Classification: Bcc: X-PHP-Script: X-Spam-Score: Return-path: functiontoLowerCase(){[nativecode]}: functiontoLowerCase(){[nativecode]}: function toLowerCase() {\n [native code]\n}");

which *breaks* IMAP access! (And doesn't go away when you uninstall the add-on.) Beware of this - you'll need to revert those lines by hand to regain access to the IMAP box(es) it broke.

Finally, there are a couple options related to showing the score and rules (!) in the message that seem to have no effect for me. The latter sounds really cool. Too bad none of this is working. Here's hoping for an updated version soon.

Send Later (old)

Wurdearring: 3 fan de 5 stjerren

To add some details: in Thunderbird 2.0.0.12, the extension allows you to input a date, and saves the message to the Drafts folder as expected, with the X-Send-Later-At header set properly. However, it never sends the message.
