PlainCopy adds a new “Copy plain text” entry to the Thunderbird context menu.
When you select text in an email and choose the PlainCopy menu item, the selected content is copied to the clipboard as clean plain text – without HTML formatting, fonts, colors, or other rich text elements.
In addition, PlainCopy cleans up several invisible characters that are commonly found in emails and may cause problems when pasting text into editors, documents, or applications:
A small confirmation notification is displayed after the text has been copied successfully.
PlainCopy does not collect any data, does not communicate with external servers, and requests only the permissions required for its functionality.

- Removes soft hyphens (conditional hyphenation characters)
- Removes zero-width characters
- Converts non-breaking spaces into regular spaces
- Trims leading and trailing whitespace
