I end up clicking the sorting buttons every single day, this extension is a life saver. I noticed almost immediately when it stopped working due to v78 but luckily you can download the latest pre-release from the author's Github. Thank you!
Léirmheas ar leagan níos sine den bhreiseán seo (2.0).The version that is available here on addons.thunderbird.net is compatible with Thunderbird 78. Just make sure to update the addons in Thunderbird's addon manager after updating to Thunderbird 78.

It used to be possible without extension. But thanks to the author of the extension, it's finally possible to get rid of those big buttons again. Everything looks clean.

Thanks, I was missing this feature for my support of elderly people that frequently get lost if sort orders etc. change.
For the support of elderly: Is there an add-on that makes thunderbird start always in one and the same "default" configuration of the user-interface?
