It didn't work for me, possibly because it is based on the language code and the local Google site is already in English.

I just tried to install it manually and got the error,
"This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."

As it seems Mozilla has "tweaked" the search results... I could always find this Search Engine with specific keywords, but I can't anymore. I found it via... Google. Well done, Mozilla.

Excellent! Why doesn't firefox make it easy for you to add multiple languages to select from?
Please keep the "(in English)". I like it because it's clear that you are not using the local one (which I also still use for online shopping)

Brah, could you remove the "(in English)" text from the search-box? Also, can you change the icon to the new Google's blue one?

I work at Mozilla and the revenue of the company is directly related to how much search traffic Firefox sends to Google. If the query parameters don't say that the search came from Firefox Google has no way of knowing where the traffic came from.
We're a non profit and depend on the revenue to pay our employees and keep the lights on. It looks like this add-on gets ~1250 weekly downloads (as of 8/12) and this could add up to a non-trivial amount of search traffic.
Please consider adding these parameters - and help support the browser we all love.

That's exactly the extension I was looking for but unfortunately it doesn't work in Shanghai: I'm still redirected to google.com.hk :(

After managing to redirect my homepage to google.com the search plugin was the only thing that redirected me to my regional google page. Frustrating as hell! Thank god for this add-on!

In Afghanistan, and the free base wifi does not use American IPs (even though it is an American installation). Google won't let me change the location to anything outside of Afghanistan either. Thank goodness for this addon, which quickly and easily solved the issue so that I could read my Google page again.

It is crazy that Google ignores both browser language settings, and their own search preferences to relocate ex-pat searchers to a site AND LANGUAGE that they can not understand.
This add-on does the business and has saved me endless frustration. It effects quickdrag too because quickdrag uses the search bar default.
The only problem was that I did not realise I had installed the addon. I clicked the link. Nothing seemed to happen. I clicked the link again and then it complained that a search engine of the same name had already been installed.
You have to change the search engine default from the icon to the left of the search box to the one that says "com" in tiny letters at the bottom.

It works just as advertised, but does not offer the Google Suggest feature. The link that points to the add-on with the suggest feature leads to a page that has been "disabled by administrator".
Would love to once again get an add-on that would both always search the ".com" site AND give me suggestions.

Why did I have to search so long for this great add-on;-) Thank you for it!!! And Google should thank you even more. They don't realize that foreigners not familiar with the local language might need a search engine too. Perhaps they should google...
