Absolutely brilliant. This achieved in seconds what it used to took me days to do manually (sorting invalid e-mails out of a club mailing list).
Unfortunately it does not work in TB 3.0 (yet) so I'm thinking of going back to thunderbird 2.

I recently started seeing phantom messages on several newsgroups but the current version 1.2 isn't clearing then in TB version 2.0.0.22 (20090605)

Exactly what I needed. Thunderbird kept slowing to a crawl because one of my Linux newsgroups kept reverting to 61,000 (or so) messages unread. I'm not sure which feature of ThunderPlunger did the job ("Remove Phantom Messages" or "Clear All Expired") because I tried both -- but now the problem is completely cleared. I haven't checked out all of ThunderPlunger's features, but it's definitely worth installing, just for the two mentioned. Thanks!

ok, i would like an option to strip certain messages of their attachments. i receive many messages with attachments and in time if let`s say i want to look at a certain message (i`m intrested only in the content, not the messages ) it takes a while to load it. also it will save space :D

Brilliant! Downloaded it to be able to mark all RSS feeds as read from the root. Works brilliantly! Makes you wonder why this was left out of Thunderbird in the first place!

I really needed email verification because when sending a long list, Thunderbird would not tell me which address was causing the whole list to fail. TP saved me oodles of time. And, David was very helpful when I had a question. Kudos!

David added a feature for me to be able to right-click and remove a bad e-mail address from my address book.

The longer I used T-bird the longer the loading and changing folders and accounts seemed to take. I installed ThunderPlunger, clicked a few options, rebooted the computer and things started flying. Much better!!!!
