Extremely useful and easy to use.

As others have noted, the renaming dialogue produces a spinner, then an "X" and seems to have failed. But, it hasn't actually failed. The renamed mail finally appears right next to the original version, which I then delete.

Unfortunately the above spinner+X process happens at every renaming, and takes between 10-15 seconds, during which nothing else can be done. A significant upgrade would reduce the wait to a second or two.

In v115, the dialog to do the renaming produces a spinner then an "X" and leaves you in the dialog as if the renaming has failed. However, it hasn't actually failed. The add-on needs a bit of attention from the developer. Thnx!

The EES was updated on the 4th July 2023 and now you can only update the EES from the inbox only. If you move to a different folder it no longer allows you to change the Subject. Other than that its a great option to change the EES

Somehow this modifies the message body with ä and ö to show for example ä as ä
Edit: Seems to be fixed in for the version TB115, but clearly the 115 version is not ready to use daily in production yet. Shame...

Funktioniert soweit gut. Man kann lokale TB-DB auswählen, oder sogar auf dem IMAP Server ändern.

Aber es kann keine Umlaute (ä, ü, ö, ß), was für deutsche Mails ein Schwachpunkt ist.

Is it possible to adjust your Edit Email Subject (EES) addon for Thunderbird to fit right-to-left writers?

After plugin was updated to v6.1 (2013-10-13), it began to damage the letters with utf-8 subject.
For example

Original subject:
Subject: =?UTF-8?B?0YLQtdGB0YI=?=

After plugin applied (dash sign has added to the end of original subject)
Subject: тест-

Moreover, not only the email header is damaged, but also the email body is damaged.
enca states that character set of modified e-mail is 'Doubly-encoded to UTF-8 from ISO-8859-5'.
Thus text messages in modified emails are completely losts.

Be careful when using the new version of this plugin.

UPD This happens only when 'Only local changes' is unactive.

Les différents éléments du mail traité (sujet, corps…) semblent être encodés en UTF-8, d’où des caractères inadéquats.

Exemple :

les autres numéros de téléphone et adresses (dont mail) étant désormais caducs

...sans qu’on puisse récupérer le texte original (caractères normalement accentués) ?

Does what it says on the tin, Unfortunately only changes the name locally, not in the IMAP mail box. Hence only a 3* rating.

Is there a way to Edit Encrypted Subject and sync to IMAP Server?

Whenever I tried it makes connection timeout to the server.

Maybe I missed something but I can't make this addon work right
- If the original header text is for instance "Re : test" (as a reply) and I want to change it into "New header" in the e-mail list, it will keep "Re : New header"
- If I then open the e-mail window, the original header will appear ("Re: test").

Is it because I use the POP configuration?

EDIT : I solved both issues by unchecking the option "local changes only". 5 stars for this addon

Great addon, however I experience the same thing as 'erricodavide' down below.

From this version on, when I edit a subject, the message gets appended with current date instead of its header date.
Thunderbird continues showing the correct date (the header one) and behaves accordingly, but Gmail app/webapp show the message as if it arrived at the time of subject editing process.

I genuinely think I'm not the only one facing this problem.
Also, updating TB to 78.8.1 doesn't solve the issue.

I am using TB91, so that doesn't solve it either. For now I had to uninstall the addon, but will be glad to use it, when this thing get fixed.
