Restartless Restart works on Firefox release version, but is broken on Developer Edition and Nightly. The addon appears in about:addons, but the icon does not show in customize or appear in the default location. Mozilla apparently changed something it expected. This has been the first addon I install in any new profile, so I'm dismayed.

Restartless Restart is great because it makes installing all my other add-ons SO much easier and quicker!

I use WaterFox, which many add-ons aren't compatible with, but with Restartless Restart this has never been an issue. For that matter, I've never seen a cause problems with any of the dozens of other add-ons I've used/currently use in conjunction with it.

In my book, this compatibility is an even bigger plus than the reliable, painless restart which caused me to love it to begin with.

Excellent! Does exactly what it suppose to: Restarts your Firefox session to exactly the state it was before the restart (preserving all your windows, tabs and tabs history), except for clearing the cache, so that only the focused tabs are loaded, and the rest reload when you select them (This is a great plus in my opinion. I only use restart when my session has gotten huge, so I restart to free the memory, but I think you can change this behavior to load all the tabs through tweaking some FF options). Also it has a hot-key, which might "save you" in case your window is slow/stuck. And all of this without needing to restart the browser in order to enable/disable the add-on when you download it or disable it.

not a review, just mentioning that the "Support site" link appearing on the right hand site of this page is not working.
it is leading to
https://github.com/voldsoftware/restartless-restart-ffext/issues
which is throwing a 404 - not found.

please solve that and make support accessible to users.

Excellent Application!
I am using it Every time I install new Addons.
And I have drag and drop the icon, to be shown outside on the "Toolbar" for easy access every time!
It works Extremely fast with Firefox!! :-)

Installs without restart, but no entry in the File menu appears in Thunderbird 31.4.0, even after restart. Linux, German environment.

You'd think Firefox would include a way to restart out of the box, but apparently not. This extension adds a menu entry and an icon to do just that: restart Firefox. And as the name implies, you don't need to restart Firefox to install, which is the icing on the cake!

There's no main issue with this extension, it does its job well. The only quirk is that the icon doesn't integrate well in the Firefox menu due to its low resolution; but that's really being picky.

Simple, convenient, brilliant. However it has a horrible icon that does not fit the theme at all and appears to be low resolution.

If it is broken for you on FF35 it is probably because you have dom.indexedDB.enabled set to false in about:config -- I set it to true and it 'fixed' this extension and a whole bunch of others. It sounds like FF36 will fix the underlying brokeness. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2876819

Cool, small, great idea.

But since update to FF35, it doesn't run.

Nor can I reinstall it (FF says it can't modify a required file to do so), yet it's not marked incompatible, either.

What gives?

The icon of this add-on is too small for the new firefox menu.
It's not hard to change it, right? :( It make my FF look ugly!

why this hasn't been merged into the core Fx code I don't know. I use it almost every day. being able to restart Firefox as well as shutting down and then waiting to re-open manually is such a time saver.

only downside, like others have said, is the icon really needs a refresh for the default Australis Theme.
