This extension is an inspired piece of application! I often marveled at Microsoft's "the user knows nothing" approach, and how they can make a simple thing a drag. We have to "select" and then "copy" text. No more. Just select and you are done. I will hate my OS lesser now (yes, sadly I am still using XP).
Brilliant work!

I see a lot of frustration in getting AutoCopy to work with newer versions of FireFox. Relax, it's simple to make it happen.
1. Download AutoCopy 0.8
2. Open the Zip file.
3. Double click and open the AutoCopy.xpi file.
4. Extract the install.rdf file to your desktop.
5. Open the install.rdf file with note pad.
6. Do a search for 3.0. When found change 3.0
to 3.0.1 and save.
7. Delete the install.rdf file from your zip file.
8. Add the revised install.rdf file from your
destktop to the zip file.
9. Close the zip file.
10. Open FireFox.
11. Open the zip file and drag and drop the auto
copy.xpi file into FireFox and the program will
now install.

This is a great add-on. I used it from FF 0.X until the last time it worked which was around FF3b5 :\
I was really dissappointed when the add-on that was suppose to be comptible with 3, but is not, no longer worked for me. But luckly for me i found some moded version of this add-on that work very well ^_^ I really look forward to the day that there is an officail release of this add-on that actually works again. Until then, Laters

I am done with Firefox. I wrote down a complaint about this extension because it is STILL not compatible with Firefox 3.0.
Guess what? My criticism was removed by Mozilla! Is this what they mean by "open source"? Censorship!
