Agree with many other reviewers, prior version was much better and allowed for more customization. That is lost in this latest version. Only displays a few days now, have to hover over icons to display the information that it does show now instead of displaying the data in the icon. Major downgrade of what was a nice and useful add-on. Will look elsewhere for another option.

Available to Firefox 3.0 - 4.0b8pre.
So why the hell isn't available to Firefox 4.0b8 ? Only pre (nightly builds)?

I knew forecastbar enhanced, and you're no forecast bar enhanced.
1. Don't like having to hover over the buttons to see the information. Forecast bar displayed it all the time.
2. Lost much of the features and tailoring of Forecast bar.
3. Popups look cool, but they are big and clumsy (like the icons for Windows 7...)

Forecastfox was the most useful add-on for several years. We travel often and weather plays a big part in our plans. The 'new' configuration process does not allow for the control and ease I'm used to in the older version. Pity, was an excellent add-on.

I recently had to wipe out my computer and reinstall everything. Much to my dismay, when searching for all the add-ons I once had and enjoyed, I discovered that Forecastfox has downgraded their product. Customization is now done through some sort of javascript web page. And most of the customization that was there previously is gone. At first, I thought I had downloaded the wrong extension but then noticed some of the review comments.
Then I tried uninstalling the latest version and installing an older version of Forecastfox and it works!
I am running Firefox 3.6.12 and installed Forecastfox version 0.9.10.2 and it seems to work just like I remembered.
Just go to the bottom of the page and click on "View all versions".
Now I just have to remember to *not* install updates for this one.

I like the plugin, but there are some annoyances I have with it. As ortzinator said, they removed some of the customization features from it. But my biggest complain is with how it behaves behind a proxy. The plugin gives up on connecting if you're not fast about completing the authentication window. Saves passwords are a requirement to get it working. If you're too slow, it gives a "Connection error" that doesn't go away until you restart FF and have another go at the auth window. The "Reload weather data" doesn't work and you end up stuck seeing yesterday's weather.

Used to be good. They removed the ability to customize exactly what information it showed to you in the popup (you can't see the heat index, etc anymore). You also can't see tonight's forecast without enabling the forecast for every night. Options also now load in a tab instead of a dialog box, which is annoying.

The temperatures are typically 2-3 °C higher/lower than most of other weather forecast websites

I like this add-on except for one thing. The radar picture uses the wrong location. I'm in Baltimore, MD and it displays Pennsylvania. If anything it should display the Virginia area, but it would be better to actually show Baltimore.

This is a wonderful add on. I have never had a problem with this and have used Forcastfox Weather for years. I will use it for years to come. I get multi-day forcasts as well as severe weather warnings including tornadoes. I live in Nowhereville Eastern Montana. This app works here just fine.

The bad - very limited options.
The good - great concept for changing options, simple web page design with click for settings.
On the other hand, Forecastbar Enhanced has many variables several with subvariables. You can display as you see fit, including showing text for current day, icon only for today's forecast and extended forecast. You can set what information you need to see for current, today or forecast and all can be different. You can save profiles externally. Forecastbar Enhanced method of changing variables is not difficult, and allows you to highly customize the information you are looking for (maybe only the temp and wind speed), but one missed letter in keying in the variable and it won't show.
Would like to see all of Forecastbar Enhanced options in Forecastfox. The method of changing the settings would be perfect.
Forecastbar Enhanced may not have been updated in more than 2 years, but works great.

There seems to be a lot of really poor reviews for this extension... quite honestly, I don't really understand why. After realizing 'Forecastbar Enhanced' hadn't been updated for 2 years and is no longer under development, I decided to give this extension a whirl, despite the recent reviews. I must say, I'm very happy with it! There are a few changes from the 'old' version, but I think they're for the better. Perhaps I wasn't utilizing some of the features you guys were. Anyways, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this extension to anyone. Install and enjoy.

This guys don't know what they're saying.
First of all I live in a small town outside the US and I tried other programs too and Forecastfox was the one who detected my place.
Of course there aren't a lot of inovations but who can inovate an add-on that is perfect already ?
It's very easy to use and they kept the good quality from the previous versions, so the advice I can give is that this program is very good (that's why I gave 5 stars) and don't be "afraid" to download because of the recent comments and rating like I did.

I can't believe how much this Addon actually "SUCKS" now. What a shame.
Developers should just quit now if this is the best that they can do.
Should be an option to give an Addon a "0" star rating because that is all this one deserves!
