Despite what others say, this extension is still working for me. I've tested creating contacts as well as deleting them, and they all sync both ways.
The only thing that confuses me is that this page lists the latest version as 0.7.12 and the date of release as June 20, 2013.
Inside thunderbird, it's listed as 0.7.12 with a release date of December 24th, 2013. So I dunno if there was a patch released that fixed other folk's problems, but like I said, it's working for me.
I'm also using Thunderbird 24.2.0.

Does not work anymore under Version 24.1.1. Please, fix it. Where is no other addons for Google Contacts Sync.

The extension unfortunately deletes contacts that I add through Thunderbird.
So editing is only possible on gmail.

Synchronization works if you make sure that the contact you want to sync is not a duplicate contacts (which can happen unknowingly because of suggested contacts)
Remaining problem (bug ?) though : not all fields get synced. Function and company name get left out for some reason.
I'm donating nevertheless.

I have the same problem as Aivaras. When I enter new contact in thunderbird, it don't synchronizes to Google Contacts

works, but ONE PROBLEM - when I enter new contact in thunderbird, it don't synchronizes to GOOGLE.

Can't create list and sync to google's group. Beware your contacts will be lost.
If you want to do with group, do it in google web only.

I think this is a great app and I'm curious to know if anyone is experiencing this issue, but there seems to be a weird random bug (maybe not) where it captures the same email over and over and thinks it is "new" each time and stores it in your "Other Contacts." I was having issues with Contacts loading SUPER slow on my android so I looked at my Google Contacts in Thunderbird to discover 24,000 "other" contacts. Of which at least 2,500 were from the same exact email. By cleaning out these thousands of the same emails using Gmail's "merge duplicates" I was able to get my contacts running quickly again on all platforms (TB, Android, etc.). Note: Google can only merge duplicates 2500 at a time and for some I had 10,000 of the same email address so keep running it over and over to clean it out. I feel like it's from TB plug-in, and it doesn't happen with all addresses...so it may have been fixed.

Thunderbird is a changing program. I would like add-ons to follow these changes. Since I prefer x86_64 I'm using Daily and this add-on worked flawless. Now Daily has moved on and made some changes where this add-on stopped working. I'd rate this add-on a 5 stars if it would keep up with those changes within a time frame of 2 weeks. But it's now over 2 weeks that this add-on isn't working anymore on daily :(

This version (0.7) fails to sync more than a couple of contacts and I would consider it broken. I downloaded the latest beta from the author's site, and it does work. Would have been 4/5 if only it worked.

Does the job well. This is apparently the best contact extension for gmail.

Since last update, upload from thunderbird to google contacts does not work.
