The extension was supposedly incompatible for me with Thunderbird 17.0.2, here's how I made it work, knowing that I used Winrar 4.20 and the windows Notepad for this :
1/ download the .xpi to your hard drive. 2/ add.zip after the .xpi extension, 3/ let Winrar open the .zip file, double-click the install.rdf file within winrar, chose Notepad to open the file, 4/ scroll to the bottom, update maxVersion to anything above 17 in the !-- Mozilla Thunderbird section. Save in notepad, winrar asks you a save confirmation, please confirm. 5/ rename the .xpi.zip back to just .xpi, drag and drop into thunderbird's modules windows, and it's done ! :)
I tested, the extension works now.

Doesent work because each csv File is different. i. E. i have from Keepass a csv file with completly different field names and is separated by semikolons. It would be better if i can choose in Exporter how the csv file looks like. Same function like i import csv files to excel. So, one Star for the Try

Currently still in FF17 it still works for me and it is most important addon to me, i hope someone will maintain it in future or overtake this from current developer if he has abandoned this. If this do not work on future Firefoxes then i cannot update browser until Password Exporter is compatible.

I hope someone who can help sees this. I spent a good amount of time looking for a proper support email address or forum and found nothing.
My FF profile seems to have completely disappeared and was utterly corrupted. I tried to import the cvs file that your plugin exported a few days before this crash, and it locked up FF. I had to shut down FF from the task manager.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really don't look forward to importing around 100 or so passwords.
I am operating Windows 7, 64 bit, and FireFox 16.0.2.
It exports passwords fine, but I'm giving this only a 2-star rating until it (A) imports them, and (B) has some means of asking support that does not involve cluttering up the reviews.

It is simple, easy, and never seems to have any challenges.
Do yourself a favor and use two good secure passwords you like and are type-able for the master password!

Works OK on Iceweasel 10.0.7-esr *except* there is no button in the
Preferences dialog - the only way to export or import is through the
Extension tab which is a little bit more laborious. Still very useful
though.

Good; it It worked on fx14 for me, but i used the .CSV format. (Others have complained that the default xml format didn't work on fx14)
By the way, this should be 5 star, but due to a Mozilla bug, I can NOT SEE the stars on my black screen setup (which i need for my disability. So, i have no idea what rating firefox selects)

Just installed the latest Firefox version (14.0.1) to find out that i can't install this extension because it's not compatible, too bad, now i miss big amount of my passwords.
Wondering how soon will it be compatible with Firefox 14.0.1?
Thanks.

This little utility does exactly what it is supposed to do: Collect all the saved passwords and put them in a file. You can then backup passwords or use the utility on another computer to transfer the passwords to it. It is very easy.
At the same time, I'm not convinced that it is a very good security practice--the point of passwords--to use the utility. I don't know how well the secured password files are and I've had problems with the encrypted files.
The password exporter, if I recall correctly, sometimes has had problems with duplicates or multiple passwords to the same webpage.

Passing by Mozilla's addons, checking my latest bookmarks' url, I just realized I forgot to say a warm thank you !!!
I'm using Password Exporter since at least 6 or 7 years, and it saved me a lot time, as I sometimes fully reinstall Firefox.
The first time Add-on Compatibilty Reporter told me PassExp doesn't work anylonger, I remember I had almost a heart-attack (joking.... but I've got plenty of passwords); you're kidding me !
Then I deactivated this unpleasant M(aster)F(inal) A-oCR as usual... and everything was fine again. Could reintroduce my passwords, within a minute ! Yes !!!
Therefore as we're used to say in French, better late than never : Thank You !

Your password exporter has saved my bacon more times than I can remember. I'm a big believer in different passwords across different sites so as you can imagine, I have hundreds of passwords. On many occasions, for various reasons, I've needed to move all of my Firefox settings from one installation to another and the two most important things that help me do this is the built in Bookmark export and your wonderful password export.
This add-on has saved me a lot of time and energy and I am eternally grateful for that. Because it's such a powerful and important feature, I don't understand why it isn't already built into Firefox as standard. I'm pretty sure many Firefox fans would agree with me that this is an odd feature for Firefox to leave out. Anyway, that doesn't really matter now because you've come to our rescue and made Firefox feel a bit more complete. Thank you for your hard work, its really is appreciated by me.

Password Exporter v1.2.1 is still working with Firefox v13. I did have to reinstall by dragging the XPI file into the Add-on window and then restarted Firefox.

Well, this worked perfectly for me and I am not someone blessed with a great deal of skill in computing. It solved a real headache in setting up our new computer - so, thanks very much!
