I used to and love Enigmail in daily use. But today I upgrade my thunderbird to 3.1.7 (Shredder Linux_x86_64-gcc3) and it cannot use anymore. Many mails are gpg encrypted and I cannot read anymore.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.2).The official release of Enigmail only supports the officially supported platforms by MozillaMessaging (which does not include 64-bit versions for Linux). A contributed 64-bit version for Linux is offered as contributed builds at http://enigmail.mozdev.org/download/index.php.html.

pretty good alternative to [Apple] Mail's GnuPG Plug-In- I'm recently a Thunderbird adoptee and am happy this Add-On exists. ;)

Not quite there, yet. I've used it before, and it works wonderfully when it works. but if it doesn't --- you're S.o.L.
Unable to install: I get the error:
"Enigmail" could not be installed because it is not compatible with your Thunderbird build type (Linux_x86_64-gcc3). Please contact the author of this item about the problem.

I upgraded Thunderbird v.2 to Thunderbird 3.1.2 without a problem.
Thunderbird 3.1.2 downloaded the suitable upgrade for Enigmail and installed it.
Then I installed Gpg4win 2.0.4 after deinstalling Gpg4win 1.1.3.
The whole story runs on Win XP using the I2P anonymizing Network.
Enigmail and everything else runs fine.
Perfect

Works great on my Windows box. Can't tell what's so hard to find the gnupg binary download for Windows on the gnupg website: http://www.gnupg.org/download/index.en.html#auto-ref-2

Couldn't find a coherent download/installer for gnupg for windows, gave up, shouldn't have to look that hard.
