The setup wizard checks several options by default. If you have never used unity inbox, avoid it if you use many message filters. They will not work properly with unity inbox. Rerunning the wizard will not undo things as expected. If you have several addons and you like them, read all reviews before installing. The latest version is not available here. I will probably tinker with the addon, but will eventually uninstall it.

This add-on is simply awesome and most of the unfortunate quirks and limitations are due to bugs in Thunderbird.

Makes it much easier to keep track of your messages, and has some nifty extra features such as quick previews of PDF and image attachments. This addon greatly improves the Thunderbird experience.

I just installed this add-ons a day before and its already become an integral part of my mailing experience. The in-page reply and reply to all features and animations are well thought.

But I do believe that the conversations need some more animations. Nothing fancy really. More like, when opening a thread from the conversation, or collapsing the thread. Expanding/Collapsing all. Given that this add-on internally used jQuery, the taks is relatively simple. But it would add tremendous value to already a great add-on.

Hi,

The code is freely available on GitHub at https://github.com/protz/GMail-Conversation-View ; it's mostly HTML and Javascript for the UI, so I'd be more than happy to provide guidance and / or review patches that improve the conversations experience!

Cheers,

jonathan

Love this addon. I wish I could change the colors though. I use the dark TTDeepDark theme, and the white background sticks out like a sore thumb.

Messed up my folder view, didn't revert back after uninstall *CRY* ,,,,all my accounts are grouped together. STAY AWAY FROM THIS!
----------<br>EDIT: Thank you Jonathan and I am sorry I overreacted... I just got through all settings and totally didn't see this obvious thing: Menu > View > Folders > All,<br>Thank you for your kind reply.

https://github.com/protz/GMail-Conversation-View/wiki/faq has an entry called " I don't like the unified inbox / the folder structure is different / missing folders". You don't have to be aggressive...

I love this add-on. This is exactly what I was waiting for to start relying completely on TB. That's it!! I'm not switching back to anything else really. Keep up the good work. (Just one little thing: why the conversation sign is stick to the subject and not to the sender or even separate from all that)

I love this addon! It make it so much easier to read related mail. I wish it would do something about the message list too, but it also makes it unnecessary to use the CompactHeader addon, as it also cuts away all the crap. Thanks a bunch!

Wonderful addon! I think this is a must-install addon for any Thunderbird user. Made life far more simpler for me. I liked the Unified Folders the most. The conversation view is awesome too. Kudos!

Wonderful, brings a great feature set to Thunderbird - can use without.

This is a fairly good add-on and provides good functionality, in theory. In practice, however, it falls short. I am literally missing replies because the plugin keeps conversations rolled up (that is not expanded so you can see all messages in the thread, or "conversation") - which is fine EXCEPT that it doesn't BOLD the parent message and add the new message flag to the conversation header when a new message is added to the thread which effectively hides the fact that a new message has arrived. Also, disabling the plugin does not seem to undo the hierarchical display of the conversation thread. Disabling the add-on should un-bundle all threaded messages.

Conversations works well, but sometimes it gets confused any doesn't update the current email being displayed.

Great! I can now stop using gmail's webmail.
Too bad you can't quote in a reply using the selected text in the previous message, like you do when you read a message without this addon...

It messes up my entire folder view. I couldn't finy my folders anymore, everything was hidden in some grouping tree, sorted by folder name, then account (the wrong way). Then the conversation integration is only halfway. There's a message tree as usual at the top (which does not include my sent mail, which is what I hoped to see), but a totally different message view at the bottom. It just doesn't fit. And it feels slow. ATTENTION: Make a backup of your entire data before trying this! It will not revert the settings it made on installation, even if it says it will. I'm now restoring my folder views, columns selection and so on. This alone qualifies for a zero-star rating.

I found a bug on this addon that would bug some people in the future: If a user sends his/her name as "Surname, Name" and we attempt to reply to it, then Conversations assume that pour contact name is "Surname" only and email "Surname" too, of course causing an error when sending the email.
Despite this bug, the whole addon is awesome and should be installed by default on every Thunderbird around the world.

This is one of the best Thunderbird add-ons. I have two requests, and one is what others have mentioned. Scrolling to get to the reply box on long threads is a pain. It would be nice if the reply box was in a fixed position, preferably the bottom, like in an IM chat window. My second request is to add a Reply All option to the reader window in addition to Reply. It's currently buried under More. Thanks for the hard work!
