Just tried it for a dailymotion vidéo, the video appears on a list but stays grey and cannot be downloaded.

I've found it works best with Youtube, but it actually quit on me not too long ago...I dug into matters a little and found several recommendations of beta 2.055 or something similar, so I downloaded it and was back in business before too long. Only thing is, it no longer goes through Firefox's download manager for some reason, so it's anyone's guess as to when it finishes downloading a video...and it has wigged out a couple of times and left me with an incomplete download. All told, though, when it does work, (and it usually does), it's absolute perfection. I especially love being able to put it in the context menu only. Keep up the good work!

Strange add...
I use it it since a short wile :
sometimes it works properly, sometimes it doesn't...
It shows results, but nothing happen as I click on "download".
On my second computer doesn't work at all...
I think I'll reinstal Jdownloader, that never fails.
Guess that for whom it works well, a good add... but in my case, only so-so !

Great plug-in for firefox, but change 2 things about it.
1) Always make it tell you EXACTLY what a video's resolution is (360, 480, 720P, 1080P, & others), because low, medium, normal, high, & so on don't tell anybody squat.
2) Let us change the NAME of what to save the video as.

Configure->User lists CODECs in order of preference
Configure->User chooses preferred video quality
Results->One listing per video, best CODEC/quality match.
If only one video, can start download automatically.
Would make a great plugin even better.

Great product but unfortunately seems dead with either the latest changes to Firefox or Youtube. I haven't seen a recent change or review but I assume this is for all Unplug users and Youtube. Hopefully, developer is kind enough to update.

Downloaded this add-on in an attempt to find one that could still download videos from Dailymotion (since my usual add-on stopped working there a couple weeks ago), and it's the only one of the many I've tried that can! Not only that, but it downloads most videos from Dailymotion in MP4! Love it!

Let us rename the file. Files with weird characters (double quotes) are not saved correctly.

Simply works. Any flash content on any website is successfully identified and can be downloaded thereafter as a .flv.
It's a pity there is not such an extension for Chrome yet... more than a pity, a tragedy for Google.
Those who cannot make it work have probably problems with computers xD

Best YT (and others) downloader of all the ones I tried. It is simple and unintrusive, and the author seems to constantly keep it updated so it works again quickly every time the the sites change.
September 2012: version 2.50 didn't work anymore with YouTube, but 2.052beta (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/unplug/versions/2.052beta) does work.

On Sep13-12 in the U.S. and Sep14-12 elsewhere YT's switch to the RTMP protocol broke most if not all YT downloaders including CYS, Unplug, and all others I use and checked. For now the Video DownloadHelper Addon has a working update and the Video Audio Myxa Addon works. Also Zamzar was asked to stop offering YT video saving.

No, it seems something did change. I keep getting phantom downloads. A "0 bytes" download shows up in the downloads manager, and no file shows up in the designated download location.
I've experienced this issue before, and it stopped happening after a few days. I'm not sure what causes it. Can anyone else confirm?
