This extension is to output the number of unread messages in all inboxes into the temporal file /tmp/testUnread. As a result, this output file can serve as an input for other applications to read and show notification either on a dock bar or on the menubar.
I create this extension in order to be able to show the number of unread meassages on my macbook's menubar. I constantly set the dock bar to be auto hiden. Then, it is not noticible for me anymore that new unread mails have arrived. By developing a simple menubar application name TB Unreader Counter, I put an icon con the menubar which periodically reads the output file from the extension and changes its appearance to give me notification of new unread mails. This software can be downloaded from here https://sourceforge.net/projects/unreadtb/.
