Just to say that in advance: FCF was my best-ever favorite add-on for Firefox, installed on every PC I ever worked on as standard tool No. 1. That was until the crippled version 2.0 came out. Now it is only yet another useless eye-candy, a shadow of it's former self. I urgently ask you to forget your upcoming "business model" to have weather forecasts for more than 4 days as paid service and keep peoples' FREE choice of having their short trips and medium term vacations planned with a fully-fledged Forecastfox as it was before. My family pretty much never went anywhere without checking the wheather before with FCF for the next 8 days. If you don't offer that anymore, FCF/Accuweather turns into yet only another rip-off and make it useless to install. IOW: you lost your USP. I can have 4 days forecast with any web weather service for free, and surely will turn to other services as the actual state of the soft is simply embarrassing, compared to what it was before and which "features" it sports by now. Keep the 8 day period, or even enhance on that, and add the choice to use other forecast services like i.e. http://www.ilmeteo.it/meteo/Porlezza to check the weather in the poular Lake Lugano region or http://www.centrometeolombardo.com/ for the neighbouring Lake Como region (the Menaggio youth hostel is covered in the Lonely Planet travel Guide). Those services "know" their local Alps weather best. Give us back what made you so popular, please. If that was your deal with Accuweather, let me tell you what the others voiced already: you were ill-advised to believe people are as simple-minded as you obviously deem them to be. WTH should anyone shell out a buck for less service? Never that will work.

Next to the spelling dictionaries, Forecast Fox is my favorite Firefox add in. I've used it for years now. I highly recommend it.

(And yes it would be great to have the additional data back, either fully customized, or as a single option for full forecast, and they are working on giving us back at least some of it. Post feature requests here: http://forecastfox.uservoice.com/forums/36457-general )

Every time I start Firefox the Forecasfox options web page shows up. What is with that? I don't need or want this web page. This add-in has gone from useful to a giant pain. It is now removed from my system never to return.

It's sad when the new version of an addon is worse in every way than the old one. What are the devs thinking?

The new extension removed features I considered critical (like day and night forecast), and seems buggy to boot.

Forecastfox used to be great. This v2.0 upgrade is actually a downgrade. The superb customizability has been removed. Bugs have also been introduced, such as showing ${text} in place of alert titles.

*PLEASE* bring back the feature that made Forecastfox so great and unique: the ability to customize everything.

(Being able to specify the boundaries in the radar would also be a welcome addition. For example, my location is in the southwest corner of the automatically-set radar window, with the jet stream coming from the southwest, so I can't see approaching precipitation.)

(The rating is for the pre 2.0 version) While I liked the look and feel of the new version I was unhappy about being redirected to the developers site to run his scripts to finish the setup. I would have preferred that the setup remain contained in the extension. I chose to return to version 0.9.10.2. Which left me with the problem of the continual push for the new version during the add-on update process. The solution was found at: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Updating_extensions which led me to the MR Tech Toolkit 6.0.4 extension at: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/421/ which allows firefox users to selectively stop the add-on update process. Problem solved and I still have the great Forecastfox add-on without the irritation of having to be watchful of the add-on updating process

It used to be a great tool (before ver 2.0). Now, post ver2.0, its just like the others. Not much control on the info for the individual. I had to download the old version of forecastfox and will never update from now on. New users should try the old version (pre 2.0)

Was a solid 5-star addon, has deteriorated completely now. Fast food for the eyes - fancy graphics, way less information, lacking the former configurability, doesn't even display city names in the toolbar. It was destroyed deliberately, so I guess it's targeted at the Apple crowd now. Bye and thanks for the old version.

There's an option to display city names in the toolbar....

不错,操作简单,功能强大,支持中文,卫星云图也支持中国地区。
Good, simple but powerful, supporting Chinese, the satellite images are also support in China Area.

I use the newer version without liking it so much, I really expect an update and with that to satisfy the worse reviews declared before me. Yes, this version is really a downgrade. The same has happened with Foxfilter, add-on which is a garbage right now.I do not understand how this people are in that way disturbed by success. Nevertheless, I hope that the forecast to be extended to at least 7 days. The customization was wonderful but it is missing now, what can I say? Maybe you are reviewing this by entering more settings in the newer web based form. Thanks anyway. Only one star for downgrading... Sorry... Good luck.

This upgrade is just fine I'm not sure what the problem is with those leaving bad ratings! there's nothing wrong with it, it's nice, I was even considering not getting it after reading some of the reviews But I've used this add on a very long time so I got it, and love it! So nothing to worry about for those reading the bad reviews!

I am so happy as I recognized that the last Forecastbar enhancet 0.9.6 is still available :-) The new version in a nutshell: unhandy and unsightly, in my opinion

This was one of the first extensions I got for new Firefox installations. Now it's junk.

If you've unwittingly "upgraded" Forecastfox and are despairing -- and you will be, because the Web-based configuration seems to have been developed for imbeciles, and has little of the functionality that made this one of the best extensions available for Firefox -- you can, thankfully, get the old version here: http://www.mediafire.com/?w3gt5a5z71ctdco

I hate badmouthing people who work hard on a free product, or griping about said free product, but it must be said: this "upgrade" was completely unnecessary -- there was absolutely nothing wrong with the last one! Nothing! It was perfect! -- and an "upgrade" only in the most technical sense, i.e., the version number increased.

I just downgraded from 2.0.1 back down to 0.9.10.2 (which is perfect) - what's up with only being able to display a 4-day forecast? With 0.9.10.2 I can display a week. Please give 2.0.3 the same configuration options as 0.9.10 - until then why bother us with new "upgrades"? Great product otherwise.

Great ext. til this release, imo. With this the forecastfox website keeps unwantingly popping up whenever I open up the browser. It's very irritating to say the least. So, I went back to the previous version, since I can't stop the site from opening. ;(

I have enjoyed using this add-on for several years. With this new update my setting are no longer housed on my PC. I can't understand why storing settings on-line rather than locally is beneficial to me. Frankly, I don't trust it. I have uninstalled this add-on.

I had used this extension for years, along with Web Developer. I did an upgrade to Forecastfox last week. My Web Deverlope extension stopped working and so did a few others. After several hours of troubleshooting and doing some system restores/disabling add-ons/etc I tracked it down to this new version. I had done quite a few other installs around the same time so it took a while to track it down to this add-on. Anyways, I have found a new weather bar that doesn't break Web Developer.

After my main complaint was dealt with in the first update I'm willing to give it a try. It still takes up more space than necessary by displaying (amazingly) "Now: " all the time.

Anyway, a downgrade like this, ripping out a lot of functionality, really deserves some bad reviews.

Updated to version 2.0.0 and was happy. Now updated to current version 2.0.1 and I am unhappy. I'm a german user and now have a mix of english and german words. Something got wrong with this version. I have several pcs with same problem. Settings for version 2.0.0 opens http://www.getforecastfox.com/customize/11/ and everything is ok. Version 2.0.1 opens http://www.getforecastfox.com/customize/13/ and mixes languages. Hope to get a working updated version for german users soon. Please!
